I am decades away from the target audience for the just-released Krypto the Superdog: the Complete Series. Ever since the Canine of Steel arrived in 1955, he has been a popular supporting player, and with all-things super-heroic now part of the pop culture zeitgeist, it made perfect sense to give him a series for the younger side of the television demographic.
All 39 episodes of the 2005 series are presented here, adapted by producer Chris Mitchell. Joining Krypto (voiced by Sam Vincent) on his crimefighting adventures are Streaky (Brian Drummond), Supergirl’s pet cat, and Ace the Bathound (Scott McNeil). They even created Stretch-o-Mutt (Lee Tockar) to round things out. And if there are going to be animal heroes, there have to be animal villains, who happen to include the pets of Lex Luthor (Brian Dobson) and Catwoman. When things look dire, they can count on help from the Dog Star Patrol.

Upfronts trailers are always tricky things. Movie previews have a hard enough time selling a 90-minute movie in two minutes. Convincing people to get excited about an entire season of television is another.
As ABC’s fall lineup hinted at earlier today, it’s a male-heavy new slate of shows, but there’s always more below the surface. We’ve gathered our thoughts on these nine new sneak peeks and ranked them for your perusal.
“Ten Days in the Valley”
Kyra Sedgwick plays Jane, a single mom who’s woken in the middle of the night for an urgent script rewrite, and when she comes back to bed…her daughter…is gone! While the implication that moms will be punished for working hard isn’t ideal, we were ready to forgive anything for the great Kyra Sedgwick. But then, well, the tagline flashed across the screen: “What happens when fiction becomes all too real?...

From Men In Black to Free Willy and Jumanji, here's how these '90s movie properties ended up as Saturday morning cartoons.
As wise old Yogurt tells the heroes in Spaceballs, the money is really made in the merchandising of a movie, parodying the revolutionary drive for tie-in products and media that followed George Lucas' savvy handling of Star Wars. Yogurt's prophecy fulfilled itself when the film's writers Mel Brooks and Thomas Meehan oversaw a short-lived and underwhelming spin-off, Spaceballs: The Animated Series in 2008.
When the film was originally released in 1987, the writing was already on the wall and one way in which studios could exploit their properties under the banner of an expanded universe was through animated spinoffs aimed at youngsters, with a view to selling toys and cereal based on that property too.
This was especially common with movies released in the 1990s, even...

As the penultimate episode of Psych season 7,"Nip and Suck It" featured Shawn and Henry facing off to see who could finish the case first.
While it was a little less than I expected a week prior to a finale, the string of one-liners and Gus' face saved this episode was being a major letdown.
We all knew that Henry was itching to get back in the game, if only because Shawn and Gus steadfastly refuse to solve any of their cases without somehow making sure that he gets involved. What I really appreciated about this episode, though, was Henry's eagerness to be out front, one step ahead of his proteges.
It's easy to forget that just as much as he made Shawn into the detective he is today, a lot of that tutelage took place with Gus close at hand. That was one of the few observations...

"Psych" has almost ended its seventh season, with just two new episodes left. The season finale, "No Trout About It," caps off a stellar run, so we've got some teases for you about how everyone's favorite detectives close out Season 7.
Anthony Michael Hall guest stars as Harris Trout, a consultant brought in to take a hard look at the department and its, shall we say, unconventional ways of doing police work. The Case of the Week ends (starts?) with a rather awesome car crash, then is revealed through a series of flashbacks. At the scene of the crash, Henry has a rather interesting encounter that does not get resolved during the finale. Fingers crossed the show picks that thread up in Season 8.Remember in the "Go On" finale (you should remember, because you should have watched it, it was a great show), Ryan scattered cake mix instead of his wife's ashes?...

"Psych" returns after a year-long hiatus for its seventh season Wednesday night (Feb. 27) on USA. Executive producer Steve Franks teases what fans can look forward to in the premiere and going forward.
When we last left our "Psych" team, Henry had figured out that his old cop pals were corrupt and was shot because of what he found out. Franks tells Zap2it he hopes the "Psych" fans are concerned about Henry's survival.
"I hope that they're worried," laughs Franks. "Otherwise, we haven't done our jobs."
"You know, things never really end up too terribly in the world of 'Psych,' but that would be a crazy thing, right? If we did kill him off?"
It would be particularly devastating in the wake of Henry and Shawn having such a great connection in the Season 6 finale.
"I loved that moment just before Henry leaves, it's so heartbreaking that they...

“The Expendables” co-stars Dolph Lundgren and Steve Austin re-team for “The Package”, a slam-bang actioner from Jesse Johnson, who directed a little-known but I think underrated action flick called “Pit Fighter” from 2005. Here’s an Exclusive clip from “The Package”, featuring Dolph Lundgren doing what Dolph Lundgren does best — look mean and plotting your death. Dthe Package features Austin as Tommy Wick, a nightclub bouncer and enforcer for Seattle crime boss Big Doug (Eric Keenleyside, Dreamcatcher, Firewall). When Big Doug instructs Tommy to hand-deliver a secret package to the mysterious international crime lord “The German,” (Lundgren), he does so with the hopes that Big Doug will forgive the debt Tommy’s brother Eddie (Lochlyn Munroe, White Chicks, Freddy vs. Jason) owes. Word of the clandestine delivery spreads and soon “the package” – and those who carry it – becomes the target of rival gang leader Anthony (Michael Daingerfield, The Messengers). Anthony will...

First Look At Lindsay Hartley As Mad Harriet In Smallville
In the episode, titled “Abandoned,” Mad Harriet is sent by Granny Goodness — Christine Willes, last seen in Season Nine's “Salvation” — to defeat Clark. The episode, airing November 12, also marks the debut of Teri Hatcher as Lois Lane’s mother Ella. Created by Jack Kirby, the insane Mad Harriet debuted in January 1972′s Mister Miracle #6 as member of the Female Furies, a group of warriors trained on Apokolips to serve its ruler Darkseid. She’s only the latest denizen of Apokolips to appear in Smallville‘s 10th and final season; we’ve already seen Granny Goodness, Desaad (Steve Byers), Gordon Godfrey (Michael Daingerfield) and Darkseid himself.
JoBeth Williams' memories of her role on Somerset are a bit hazy

I will go on record, because I feel this needs to be said. I loved "Supergirl." The third entry into Smallville's final season comes in wonderfully weird, bizarre and uneven, but uniformly enjoyable.
Don't get me wrong. I nitpick plenty and I honestly might still be a little delirious from New York Comic-Con, but "Supergirl" opens up quite a bit for the Smallville universe and brings some genuine menace to this season's Darkseid arc. I'm still not quite buying the idea of the Lord of Apokolips as a possessing spirit soul corrupter that looks like a flock of birds crashed into the Smoke Monster, but certain moments absolutely work.
Honestly, I have a hard time letting go of Michael Ironside's iconic portrayal of the character in Bruce Timm's Dcau. When the entity arrives to possess low-rated radio host Gordon Godfrey (Michael Daingerfield), it does so in a...

This week’s episode of Smallville was the best of the season so far…only three episodes in. “Supergirl” I think this is the perfect story to really get non-Superman fans hooked. It’s an inside look on what to expect from Darkseid and what type of villain he really is and what he is really about, but if you are wanting to know more about the Lex Clone, where Chloe is, and understand the Suicide Squad, then this episode pushes that aside.

In the latest episode of Smallville, I was shocked at how well the show tied up the loose ends of the premiere episode, such as throwing our actors a bone here and there. In the episode, “Shield,” Cat Grant was going to be the focus. It was excellent how the episode chose to handle her as a replacement for Lois, off in Africa covering foreign news with Perry White. In the episode we find Grant, with a very anti-hero element in Metropolis, subscribing to the mindset of shock jock radio host, Gordon Godfrey [Sidebar - I got the vibe that the show was tugging at being anti-conservative talk radio, but maybe I am overanalyzing].
Grant is someone who couldn’t be more annoying and someone who put the fear of God in Clark like I have never seen. When she shows up announcing that she is replacing Lois, Clark had this look of scared concern I’d never seen. However, Clark puts his differences aside to protect Grant from a killer...

The CW has released the first images of the upcoming third episode of Smallville Season 10 called “Supergirl”, which features the return of Kara (Laura Vandervoort) to Smallville. I gotta say she looks freakin’ cute as hell. I am excited about this season and where it’s going. I also like the double look they have given Kara, very accurate to the comics.
Clark (Tom Welling) is stunned when Kara (guest star Laura Vandervoort) returns to Earth and tells him Jor El sent her to stop the dark force that is coming because he doesn’t believe Clark can handle it. Meanwhile, Lois (Erica Durance) confronts Gordon Godfrey (guest star Michael Daingerfield), a shock jock radio DJ who has been crusading against heroes, after he threatens the Green Arrow (Justin Hartley). However, after Godfrey is possessed by the dark force, he takes Lois hostage and Clark and Kara have to come to her rescue.

Another hint that Michael Rosenbaum may reprise his role as Lex Luthor in the final season of "Smallville" is tossed in. John Glover, the actor who portrays Lex's late father, Lionel, has just been confirmed by EW to return to the series for a multi episode arc.
Glover would appear for at least two episodes airing in November. Lionel was last seen in the seventh season before he was pushed to death by his own son. He re-appeared briefly in the eighth season through archival footage.
Lionel is not the only dead character brought back to life. Clark Kent's very own adoptive father Johnathan Kent will be resurrected as actor John Schneider has signed up for one episode.
On another news, a couple of villains in the tenth season have found the actors. Steve Byers and Michael Daingerfield are to take the roles as Darkseid's minions, the former as...

This article contains spoilers. "Smallville's" ninth season finale was bleak indeed. As Clark Kent (Tom Welling) was fighting for his life on the roof of a Metropolis skyscraper, the walls were pounding in around his comrade, Green Arrow (Justin Hartley). At the time, both events seemed connected, but before the episode concluded, Ollie's warning that "they are not Kryptonians" sparked rampant speculation on what the new threat for the 10th season would be. It took less than 24 hours for Darkseid's name to not only be suggested but accepted as the most likely candidate. That idea proved accurate, and casting is well underway for a horde of new baddies for the final season of the Superman-in-training series ... namely, the New Gods. Canadian actors Steve Byers and Michael Daingerfield ...
