Sang duets with friend Elton John in the 1970s on the pop hits "Don't
Go Breaking My Heart" and "True Love."
Won a local talent contest at age 10; entered show business at age 16.
Hit songwriter Mitch Murray came up with her stage name, and also
penned her first single, "Early Night." She had difficulty accepting
her new name for many years.
She has performed with the S.A.S. (Spike Edney's All Stars)
Band.
Toured as the opening act for Elton John's 1976 'Louder Than Concorde
(But Not Quite As Pretty)' tour. She also took the stage with Elton
during the show to sing their duet 'Don't Go Breaking My Heart.'
Dated Elton John's guitarist Davey Johnstone in the '70s.
