As if last week's announcement that Bravo had picked up 11 new series and renewed five wasn't enough, the network announces that it has eight new series in development including a scripted series in conjunction with Lionsgate.
"Our upcoming development slate builds on Bravo's commitment to develop a wide variety of programming that reflects the network's pop culture brand and showcases fascinating personalities who are experts at what they do," says Bravo's development VP Eli Lehrer, pictured above with "Top Chef's" Padma Lakshmi.
Currently titled "Face Down," the scripted series with Lionsgate ("The Hunger Games," "Nurse Jackie") follows a male make-up artist on his way to a nervous breakdown as he deals with the pressures of his wealthy and famous clients, the secrets he is privy to as a result, and his relationship problems with his ex-wife and eccentric parents.
In addition, the network announces seven new reality series spanning the arts,...

Bravo isn't letting its recent successes slow it down, as the channel announced their new development slate, which includes eight new shows, after recently picking up 11 new shows and renewing an additional five. While you get the typical array of looks at the worlds of fashion, art, and powerful women through unscripted fare, the network will be trying a scripted show for the first time. Titled Face Down, it will center on an in demand make up artist to the stars who gets to see all that's behind the celebrity iron curtain; there's no word on whether it's an hour or half hour show, but I'm willing to bet that it'll be the type of fizzy, fun program that Bravo focuses on. Face Down was created by Liz Sagal (Sons of Anarchy, Charmed) and Stephen Kay.
As an aside, I think that current NBC pilot Mann's World sounds absolutely perfect for Bravo,...
