Tom Cruise is one of Hollywood’s biggest action stars to have never dipped his toes into the superhero genre. While Cruise was once in contention for the role of Tony Stark / Iron Man during the inception of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the star could have just as easily ended up on the DC side of the superhero landscape.

There aren’t many people in the world who do not know who Cher is. The woman is an icon. She has had a successful career for over six decades. She sings, she acts, and she does it all. A young Cher started out as a singing duo with her then-husband Sonny Bono.
The couple had top 10 singles and starred in their own variety show. As successful as they were, their marriage didn’t work and they divorced in 1975. Since then, she only married once more but she has had many boyfriends. Cher dated some well-known faces, some not so famous, and some much younger men.
Cher | Kevin Winter/Getty Images Who is Cher’s new boyfriend?
She may not look it, but Cher is now 76 years old. Her new boyfriend Alexander Edwards is 37. The two met at Paris Fashion Week in September 2022.
There has of course been criticism of their almost 40-year age difference.

As director David Fincher explained to Emanuel Levy, "The universe conspires to make them who they are at exactly the right moment [...] And you kind of breathe a sigh of relief when they get together because now it can happen, exactly as it is supposed to." Which is strangely applicable to how "Benjamin Button" finally came to be made.

Both “Parasite” and “Jojo Rabbit” are in the running for Oscars in their respective categories.
“Parasite” bested three Best Original Screenplay nominees up for the Writers Guild Award: “1917,” “Knives Out,” “Marriage Story,” and “Parasite.” The WGA swapped the fifth Oscar-nominated script, “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,” in favor of a nomination for “Booksmart.”
“Jojo Rabbit” also beat three Best Adapted Screenplay nominees up for the Writers Guild Award: “The Irishman,” “Joker,” and “Little Women.” “A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood was a WGA nominee and is not up for the Oscar,...

The Writers Guild of America revealed its winners for the 72nd annual edition of its awards, which were held simultaneously at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles and at the Edison Ballroom in New York City on February 1. About 15,000 WGA members vote on the best writing of the prior calendar year in an array of genres.
But beware Oscar predictors: Often a few film scripts nominated for an Academy Award are deemed ineligible. Only screenplays written under the guild’s guidelines or those of several international partners are allowed to vie for the WGA Awards. That accounts for its relatively low success rate at previewing the eventual Oscar nominees compared to the other guilds.
Among those ineligible for consideration this year are some of the leading Oscar contenders, including the original screenplays for “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” and “Pain and Glory.” The former is by Quentin Tarantino,...

Playwright Katie Cappiello is teaming with “House of Cards” creator Beau Willimon to bring an adaptation of her 2013 play “Slut” to the small screen.
The show, titled “Grand Army,” is set up at Netflix with Odessa A’zion set to lead the cast.
“Grand Army” follows five students at the largest public high school in Brooklyn, who wrestle with sexual, racial and economic politics as they fight to succeed, survive, wild out, break free and ultimately “become somebody.” Cappiello has worked with young people across the country as a teacher for over 15 years, and the characters and stories in the show are inspired by her students.

The “Mindhunter” Season 2 trailer dropped Monday, giving fans of the Netflix thriller series a slightly closer look at the show’s version of Charles Manson. Except you might not want to look too closely at him, seeing as it appears he’s sensitive to the fact he’s small — “like, really small.”
The teaser shows FBI agents Bill Tench (Holt McCallany) and Holden Ford (Jonathan Groff) interviewing serial killer Edmund Kemper (Cameron Britton) as they gather information in an attempt to solve the Atlanta Child Murders, a series of killings between 1979 and 1981 that targeted African-American children, teenagers and adults. He advises them on how best to deal with their next killer interview: Manson (played Damon Herriman).
“One more thing, Manson is small, like, really small — try not to stare,” he says in a voiceover, as we see Manson’s figure start to come into focus in the shadows of a prison.

Premiering Aug. 16, Fincher recently revealed the focus of Season 2 will be on the series of killings between 1979 and 1981 that targeted African-American children, teenagers and adults in Atlanta, Georgia. Wayne Williams, who is currently serving a life sentence of the deaths of two Atlanta men in 1981, will play a central role in the season. Police believe he’s responsible for 23 of those murders. Tim Miller and David Fincher’s adult, animated anthology series, “Love, Death & Robots,” has been renewed for a second season by Netflix, the streaming service said Monday.
“Kung Fu Panda 2” and “The Darkest Minds” filmmaker Jennifer Yuh Nelson has joined as supervising director for Season 2 — er, Volume 2, as Netflix puts it, and will oversee all new episodes. No release date or episode count has been set yet for the second volume in the series.
The 18-episode first season of “Love, Death & Robots,” with installments ranging from six to 17 minutes, launched in March to mostly positive reviews from critics. However, the show drew some backlash on social media when Netflix was accused of presenting users with episodes in a specific order based on their sexual identity — an accusation the streaming service firmly denied.

A series that was built around the chemistry between two actors — and that had been building toward a climactic showdown — is suddenly a solo act. And while the sixth and final season of “House of Cards” is as mixed a bag as the thrilling but uneven Netflix drama has yet produced, the good news is that Robin Wright is up to the task of anchoring the show.
After all, since the earliest episodes, Wright has been the not-so-secret weapon of “House of Cards,” playing a character whose astringent refusal to yield to emotion balanced the more ornate performance of Kevin Spacey as her ambitious but weaker-willed husband. It was a well-tuned duet in which she did all the calibration, constructing a careful performance around his Shakespearean floridity.
With Spacey now fired from the show due to allegations of past sexual misconduct, Wright is on her own. And the spotlight suits her.

It is ironic that Netflix chose to release first-look photos from the upcoming sixth and final season of House Of Cards during the Tony Awards, hosted last year by the series’ former star Kevin Spacey.
A year later, Netflix is ushering in a rebooted eight-episode final season of its flagship drama without Spacey, who was let go over sexual misconduct allegations. It is led by co-star Robin Wright as the Us President, who is joined by major new cast additions Diane Lane, Greg Kinnear and Cody Fern.
They join fellow returning HoC cast members Michael Kelly, Jayne Atkinson, Patricia Clarkson, Constance Zimmer, Derek Cecil, Campbell Scott and Boris McGiver.
The abbreviated sixth will “bring closure of the show for fans” and bring back to work some 2,000 people in the Baltimore area whose livelihoods depend on the show, Netflix’s Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos said in December. Previous HoC seasons consisted of 13 episodes each.

While promoting his new Netflix series “Mindhunter,” David Fincher praised the streaming giant — and took a swipe at Marvel Studios for good measure. Saying that “there’s a very large talent pool of people” who “don’t feel there’s much for them in terms of sustenance working for Marvel,” the writer, director, and producer made a call for a world beyond the cinematic universe.

“I think that if we can make a playground for them that is thoughtful, adult, interesting, complex, challenging stories and figure out ways to pull them into it, there’s a chance at something that isn’t lassoed and hogtied by three acts,” Fincher said. “And there’s something else that doesn’t have to be 22-minute half hour or have a cliffhanger. I think it is an exciting time.
