She appeared in several silent films. It was more than a decade before she was cast in her next film, the early sound film "The Bat Whispers" (1930) in the key role of Lizzie the maid in which her distinctive voice was first heard. The following year (1931) she appeared in no less than nine credited roles and her prolific career continued until her retirement from the screen in 1951.
