On paper, Doctor Who tackling immigration and extremism might not sound like the set-up for a rip-roaring family adventure. But with 'The Zygon Invasion', Peter Harness does what all great science-fiction writers do, and uses the genre to hold up a microscope to the world as we know it.
The bare bones of the tale are this: after the events of 'The Day of the Doctor', alien shape-shifters The Zygons have struck an accord with humanity and are living amongst us in their millions, hiding in plain sight.
But when a splinter group breaks the peace, the Doctor (Peter Capaldi) must assist an under-fire Unit in countering the threat to Earth... if he can only decide where the real danger lurks.
The Zygons felt like an afterthought in 2013's anniversary special, lost amidst the fireworks, but this is the full-blooded Zygon epic that Doctor Who fans have been waiting 40 years for.

Titus Andronicus Adapted and Directed by Ross Williams Written by William Shakespeare New York Shakespeare Exchange at Here 145 6th Avenue, New York, NY 10013 January 22-February 8, 2015
The New York Shakespeare Exchange has its finger in more than one pie, and not all of them are, as in Titus Andronicus, filled with human flesh. In addition to its current production of Shakespeare’s gory early crowd-pleaser, the group created The Sonnet Project, which develops a short film shot in a “cultural/historic” NYC location for each sonnet. The results can be viewed online or through a dedicated mobile app (available for Ios or Android). It also runs periodic pub crawls called ShakesBEER, which we can personally recommend as a fun way to experience a few new drinking establishments in the City accompanied by themed scenes or mash-ups from the Bard’s dramatic canon.
Titus follows the increasingly brutal conflict between the title...

Calleigh (Emily Procter) and Ryan (Jonathan Togo) answer a 911 call and give chase to a suspect. Think this is the first in a chase scene for Calleigh. I'm sure the heels of her boots kept changing, everytime the shots were replaced with her stuntwoman. Calleigh finds the suspect in the swimming pool, pretending to be swimming but the pool water turns red from the blood on his pants. Horatio (David Caruso) joins them in the chase and his stuntman was so obvious from the back. Can't beat CSI:ny for chase scenes! Horatio comments that "maybe he's still here." The boy denies killing the girl but he's caught out since no one mentioned any girl as Calleigh tells him. The news reports the death of Summer Davenport. The suspect, Zach (Eric Jungmann) who is homeless, says he climbed in through an open window and never saw her. Tripp (Rex Linn) says...

Casting (and potential casting) dominates the latest round of pilot-season news.
Maria Bello is seemingly always on the "actors in demand" list during pilot season, and this year is no different -- or maybe it is. Bello ("A History of Violence," "The Company Men") says NBC has approached her about starring in its "Prime Suspect" remake. "There may be interest in me doing it, but I haven't read anything yet or talked to anyone in-depth about it," she says. "I'm possibly interested. Definitely nervous to even think about taking over for Helen Mirren. C'mon! How could anyone compete with her?" [EW]
Debra Messing is headed back to NBC to star in the drama pilot "Smash," about the cast and crew of a Broadway musical. The "Will & Grace" Emmy winner will play the show's lyricist. The pilot is based on an idea by Steven Spielberg, who's executive producing; Theresa Rebeck ("Law & Order: Criminal Intent") is writing it.

John Stamos is set to star in and produce Killing Mr. Kissel, a Lifetime original movie based on the true story of two multimillionaire brothers who married the women of their dreams and wound up dead.
Robin Tunney, Gretchen Egolf and Anson Mount also star in the movie, which premieres in November.
Separately, Stamos is developing a telefilm at TNT and Sony Pictures TV that centers on the founder of Project Cuddle, a national organization that works to save babies from being abandoned or harmed.
Killing centers on real estate mogul Andrew Kissel (Stamos), who marries ski instructor Hayley Wolff (Egolf), while his younger brother, Rob (Mount), a New York investment banker, marries social climber Nancy Keeshin (Tunney). On the surface, it seems that the brothers are starting idyllic families, but a turn of events ultimately leads to their deaths.
"While entertaining, this story about one family's quest for the American dream that spiraled out of control also reminds us to be careful what you wish for," Lifetime senior vp original movies Tanya Lopez said.

After weeks of declining ratings, the creator of NBC's time-traveling series, Journeyman, thinks it's likely that the show has run out of time.
Journeyman debuted on September 24, 2007 on NBC. The series stars Kevin McKidd as San Francisco reporter Dan Vasser who suddenly begins jumping through time. Dan begins to realize that he is time traveling because he needs to change people's lives in some way. Journeyman also stars Brian Howe, Gretchen Egolf, Moon Bloodgood, Reed Diamond, and Charles Wyson.
The series premiere attracted a decent 9.5 million viewers with a 3.7/9 rating/share of the 18-49 demographic. Unfortunately, viewership has been falling ever since and, on November 5th, dipped to a low of 5.25 million with a 2.1/6 rating/share. That's especially bad when you consider its lead-in, Heroes, attracted 9.88 million and 6.1/9 rating/share.
Last year at this same time, ratings-challenged Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip was attracting almost 50% more viewers with 7.27 million...
