Anita Ekström was born on January 13, 1943 in Solna, Stockholms län, Sweden. She was an actress, known for Jänken (1970), Der Schimmelreiter (1978) and Pip-Larssons (1998). She was married to Leif Ångström. She died on June 18, 2022 in Sweden.
During her education, she was recruited by Stockholm City Theatre, where she stayed between the years 1966 and 1969. After a short stay at the Proteatern (a department of the National Theatre), she returned to Stockholm City Theatre in 1971.
In addition to Guldbaggen, she was awarded several other prizes: the Daniel Engdahl scholarship (1970), the Carl Akermark scholarship (2002), the Theater Association's De Wahl scholarship (2002) and the Golden Mask (2005).
Ekström began her career at Stockholm City Theater in 1966.
Anita Ekström became an actress mostly by chance; when her sister Karin entered Dramaten's student school, she thought that she too could try the same thing.
At the 7th Guldbagge Awards she won the award for Best Actress for her role in Jänken.
