- Alain Escalle has been working as a director since 1990 both in France and abroad oscillating between personal work and collaborations on different media (Spectacles Vivants, Installations Muséales, Advertisements or Cinema). After studying applied arts and Cinema, in 1991 he discovered the world of digital creation as an infographic assistant on the video dance M FORMAN, MUSIC and Mozart by Peter Greenaway. He made his first short film in 1994, D'APRÉS LE NAUFRAGE having the subject of the drama of the Medusa radle (1st SCAM Prize for the best digital work, 3rd Prize category IMAGINA 94, Exposition IMAGE EN SCENE Art 3000 at the Palais de Tokyo 93). After many business trips to Japan (from 1993 to 2006) where he worked regularly, he decided to deepen this culture with the film LE CONTE DU MONDE FLOTTANT, an award-winning short film oner film in several international festivals (Grand Prix IMAGINA 2002 - prescient in the CÉSARS of French Cinema in 2003). This film and the subsequent installation, DRIPPING, GROUND 'ERO', is an apocalyptic and multiple view of the history of Japan and the advent of the bomb in Hiroshima. After making the images for the show "Rock De Chambre" by JEAN-PHILIPPE GOUDE, Alain Escalle made the first part of the shows of MYLENE FARMER in Bercy in 2006 and performed all the stage images of the Tournée 2006 and of the Tour 2009, as well as two of the Music Videos of the singer: C'EST DANS L'AIR in 2009 and LEILA in 2010. In 2006, a long creative and research work began, which led in 2013 to the film LE LIVRE DES MORTS new dream trip on the ghosts of human history. An imaginary melting film on the theme of extermination camps in Poland, the film is screened on two occasions during the Holocaust commemorations in Tel Aviv. (Selected Official Festival International du Short Film de Clermont-Ferrand 2013, Grand Prix ATHENA Athens Animfest 2014, Best experimental Film "Grand Prix" FLICKERS Rhodes Island 2013). A new version of the film LE LIVRE DES MARDTS . 2018 edition will then be held. Since its inception, he has developed a work of visual research, covering the history of the world and that of the arts. Like the Japanese advertisement NTT DATA 97 around the universe of the painter Salvador Dali. More recently in 2014 with his DA VINCI PROJECT around the work of Leonardo da Vinci and the painters of the renaissance. Alain Escalle participated in exhibitions and museum installations such as the Fresque digitale L'EME and LA PIERRE that he made for the Abbey of Fontevraud, which became "Villa Médicis" du numérique in 2001, the installation FANT-ME D'AMOUR in 2005 for the Château de Talcy, as well as the exhibition "Le livre made its cinema" at the Musée des Manuscrits.
