On Sunday, September 25, Desperate Housewives will return for its final season. In the season 7 finale, Carlos killed Gabriell's stepfather to protect her from him and the other women were all involved in covering up his crime. The season 8 premiere of Desperate Housewives opens with the group disposing of the body.
But burying the body won't solve their problems. Carlos, in particular, will feel extremely guilty for killing the man, while Gaby will desperately be trying to reach out to him and pull him from his depression. Lynette will have to deal with her impending separation from Tom, which her family will have to deal with this season. Susan will start pulling away from her loved ones due to her guilt. Bree will be walking a tightrope between her relationship with Detective Chuck Vance and keeping the crime a secret. Meanwhile, a new neighbor moves to Wisteria Lane - Ben Faulkner...

The ladies of Wisteria Lane are back for one last go around and the 'Desperate Housewives' final season premiere is a doozy -- Gabrielle, Susan, Lynette and Bree are attempting to get rid of a dead body.
When Season 7 of 'Desperate Housewives' ended, Carlos had accidentally killed Gaby's abusive stepfather. The ladies agreed to help cover up the accident and that's where Season 8 -- the show's last -- starts.
Here's how ABC describes the new season: "For Season Eight, Carlos's murder of Gaby's evil stepfather and the cover up by Susan, Gaby, Bree and Lynette has far reaching effects. Feelings of guilt begin to overcome everyone in different ways. Susan starts to withdraw from her friends and family, and Gaby works to reach out to Carlos while his guilt weighs heavily upon him. As Lynette and Tom are grappling with...

Desperate Housewives will return for its eighth and finale season premiere on Sunday, September 25. In the episode (which is scheduled to run an extra minute long, so adjust your DVRs), the group must deal with the outcome of Carlos committing murder. In the season finale, Susan, Gaby, Bree and Lynette were all involved in Carlos killing Gaby's stepfather in order to protect his wife. In the season premiere, they work on disposing the body without getting caught.
But soon the entire group is suffering from guilt. Susan deals with her guilt by withdrawing from her family and friends. Gaby tries to reach out to her husband, who is depressed about his role in the incident. Lynette not only has to deal with her own guilty (which results in her making some wrong choices), but also has to deal with her impending separation from Tom. Bree is also put in a...

Charles Mesure has dropped some hints about his character in Desperate Housewives. Mesure joined the show last month as a potential love interest for Renee (Vanessa Williams). Sources have now claimed that his character will be a big part of the show's upcoming final season, E! Online reports. "I play a guy named Ben Faulkner," Mesure said. "He is Australian, a real estate developer, just moved into Wisteria Lane. And Vanessa Williams's character takes a bit of a shine to me. Whether I take a shine back remains to be seen, although I cannot imagine (more)...

Nicollette Sheridan seemingly refuses to put aside her rumored feud with Marc Cherry for the sake of the final season of "Desperate Housewives". Despite the show's creator's plan to pay homage to every character in the last episode, the actress insisted it is impossible for her character Edie Britt to be back on it.
"That's news to me," Sheridan told Kathie Lee Gifford and Billy Bush on "Today" when she was initially asked about Cherry's statement. When Bush pressed her with question about whether or not she will agree if she is asked, the blonde beauty claimed, "I had an amazing time playing that character. I loved her dearly, but they killed her! She's dead."
Bush then proposed an idea that Edie could return in a flashback or a dream, but Sheridan deadpanned, "Is this turning into a daytime soap opera?" Gifford then concluded, "In other words, she's saying no!

When Renee Perry (Vanessa Williams) moved into Edie Britt's vacated home last season on Desperate Housewives, the recently single New Yorker spent a lot more time talking about sex than actually doing the deed. It appears that's all about to change, thanks to Ben Faulkner (Charles Mesure), who meets Renee in the September 25 season premiere. "I play a real estate developer," says Mesure, who previously romanced Elizabeth Mitchell on V, Maggie Grace on Lost and Jill Hennessy on Crossing Jordan. Mesure moves on to Wisteria Lane as land developer ...

On Sunday ABC programming chief Paul Lee confirmed plans to say goodbye to Desperate Housewives next May after eight seasons.
"It's an iconic show that we're so proud of," Lee said. "We wanted to make sure that this show, which sort of put us on the map, had its victory lap."
Creator Marc Cherry said "the only thing harder than creating a hit show is knowing when to end it," adding he's "very aware of shows that overstay their welcome...and I just didn't want that to happen. We wanted the show to go out as a still viable and when ratings still strong." And by planning ahead, "we can have a whole year to reflect on how lucky we've been."
Lee says the show remains profitable despite the escalating salaries of its stars. But ratings have declined sharply in recent seasons, and even with DVR viewership added, last season's audience averaged about 13 million viewers,...
