Cult actress and singer from the '70s, she also led the pack on numerous
occasions at the Alcazar cabaret in Paris.
She sang a song in two films directed by André Téchiné. "On se voit se
voir" in "Barocco", and "Prends moi" in "Les Innocents". Both were
written and composed by André Téchiné and Philippe Sarde.
Born a man, she became a woman when arriving in Paris, early '60s. Considered more feminine than many women, she published her autobiography ("Elle était une fois") in 2003.
Writer/director Marguerite Duras said about Marie-France: "It's virtually impossible not to be troubled by her, whether you're a man or a woman.".
