Unfortunately for all Chicago Fire viewers, the show's cast has undergone quite a few changes since season 1. A good half of the original characters introduced in the show's pilot have been let go.
And while some of them, like Gabriela Dawson, have been peacefully written off and sent overseas, others, like Leslie Shay and Otis Zvonecek, have met darker ends.
While NBC's firefighter hit isn't known for being as gruesome as Grey's Anatomy when it comes to killing off characters, both Shay and Otis' deaths left a big impression on viewers. While Lauren German, who portrayed Shay, almost immediately moved on to Fox's supernatural hit Lucifer, Yuriy Sardarov, who portrayed Otis, has been a bit more reserved.

No matter how many devastating deaths and sad exits Chicago Fire has had in its 12 seasons, the most impactful will forever be Lauren German's Leslie Shay.
Though there was much discussion and speculation about whether it was a wise decision to kill off her character so early in the show, the Chicago Fire brass was going for an emotional twist. And that's what Shay's death will always be remembered for.
Luckily for Lauren German, her career didn't end up buried like her character's. In fact, it only skyrocketed higher than ever when she left Dick Wolf's procedural and began looking for other opportunities.
Lauren German Filmography
Now best known as Detective Chloe Decker from Fox's Lucifer, where she starred opposite Tom Ellis, who portrayed the titular character, the actress is hardly known for her role on Chicago Fire. However, she has more titles to be proud of in her career.

In one of our recent Wtf episodes, we covered the eye-gouging, eastern European-set filthy shenanigans of Eli Roth’s nicely messed up torture porn movie, Hostel. The film helped pave the way for the exploitation horror subgenre to thrive in the early 2000s, and followed a group of American tourists who get a lot more than they bargained for during a trip to the lovely picturesque country of Slovakia. Poor lads. All they wanted was some promiscuous sex with hot European ladies, but they weren’t counting on a shady organization dishing out decapitation and slit throats, as a side dish to the fornication. The movie, according to the tagline, was ‘based upon true events’ and whether or not you believe this claim, it’s nothing if not brutally demented in parts. So, like any other horror movie that manages to whip up a frenzy with critics and fans alike,...

The big day is finally here: Sylvie Brett and Matt Casey are getting married during next Wednesday’s Chicago Fire, which marks Kara Killmer’s final episode as the paramedic.
The NBC drama has hosted its share of weddings over the seasons, but none like the one glimpsed in the promo above, which showcases Brett and Casey’s nuptials at… a fish store. In this week’s episode, Brett discovered that the fancy aquarium venue she thought Tony helped her secure is actually a fish shop named The Aquarium. But that snafu is not getting in the way of the...

Regardless of genre, fans place an enormous amount of expectation on series finales. It's not easy to carry the responsibility of wrapping up any extraneous plot threads and character arcs in a satisfying way for longtime audiences. Even the most acclaimed shows, like "Seinfeld" and "The Sopranos," can have their entire successful run overshadowed by middling or divisive reception to their respective finales. This distinction carries over to horror TV shows, with plenty of notable series marring their celebrated legacies because of the last impressions left by divisive final episodes.
Horror shows often suffer from abrupt cancellations, denying audiences a satisfying amount of closure thanks to anticlimactic endings that don't live up to fan expectations. Even some of the most enduring and iconic horror shows have come to a close with lackluster finales. Here are the most maligned endings that ruined the legacies of TV horror classics by failing to stick the landing.

Remakes were all the rage in the 2000s. Halloween, Friday the 13th, Black Christmas, The Amityville Horror, House of Wax, The Crazies, My Bloody Valentine, The Hills Have Eyes – and the list goes on and on. And then there’s The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
A Platinum Dunes creation, the 2003 remake did what most remakes fail to do: honor the original while doing something wildly unique and equally as cool. Director Marcus Nispel, also behind the Friday the 13th remake, carves out a special place in the pantheon of horror by trusting his instincts and letting the cast play (and scream along the way). 20 years later, the bright spot in the sea of mediocre remakes still operates on all cylinders, and in many respects, outpaces the 1974 original.

It's nearly impossible to be a fan of procedural television without watching a series produced by Dick Wolf. He created an enduring hit with the "Law & Order" universe in the 1990s and continued his reign with his "One Chicago" universe. In 2012, Wolf took fans from New York to the Windy City with a franchise that follows law enforcement officers, firefighters, and medical personnel. The franchise's flagship series, "Chicago Fire," is among the best procedural shows of the last ten years due to its quality storylines and lovable characters.
The men and women of Firehouse 51 share a unique bond that transcends mere professional relationships. Week after week, the series brings them into some of the most dangerous situations imaginable, and survival is never guaranteed. This show is the most reliably well-written part of the "One Chicago" franchise. Still, every great series has its low points. Some seasons are memorable from beginning to end,...

The final episode of “Lucifer” featured many an emotional moment and several callbacks to earlier episodes of the former-Fox, now-Netflix drama series. [Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for the Lucifer series finale “Partners ‘Til the End.”] Lucifer, in its beautiful, heartbreaking, and very emotional series finale, focuses entirely on the titular character (played by Tom Ellis), his love, Chloe Decker (Lauren German), and their future daughter Rory (Brianna Hildebrand), as the three fight to keep their family together (in more ways than one). It’s the events that follow after escaped killer Vincent Le Mec (Rob Benedict) kidnaps Rory and her parents set out to save her that allow Lucifer to answer the question he’s been struggling with: What is his calling now that he knows it’s not to become God? Vincent Messed With the Wrong Family As much as Lucifer would prefer Chloe to stay home, she insists on going with him to rescue Rory and leaves him no choice. “Partners ’til the end,” she reminds him. The fatherhood story arc gave Ellis the perfect way to bring things full circle for Lucifer…and himself. Why was it important to make Lucifer a father? Tom Ellis: We’ve explored all of these different relationships with Lucifer. The one thing that was sort of left out there was what would he be like as a dad? [Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Lucifer Season 6 Episode 9 “Goodbye, Lucifer.”] The farewell tour is officially underway, with the day Lucifer (Tom Ellis) is set to disappear and leave Chloe Decker (Lauren German) and their future daughter Rory (Brianna Hildebrand) here in the drama’s aptly-titled penultimate episode. That sets the stage for on-screen goodbyes as well, ones that have us — and the characters — tearing up. Meanwhile, Amenadiel (D.B. Woodside) returns from Heaven, having figured out why the world is ending: Angels are answering prayers but “making a mess of it.” For example, a death row inmate prays for his cat to join him, and his pet lion, Mr. Meowgi, is let loose in the prison. That ends up tying into Dan Espinoza’s (Kevin Alejandro) continued journey as a ghost trying to figure out what guilt is keeping him from heaven. Kevin Alejandro had a slightly different experience from his “Lucifer” co-stars when wrapping up his time on the show, as his last day of shooting on the sixth and final season was one in which he both acted in the episode and directed it. And it just so happens that this particular installment, “Goodbye, Lucifer,” featured the moment that fans of Alejandro’s Detective Dan Espinoza have been waiting for ever since he died and went to hell at the end of Season 5B: the closure that allows him to head up to heaven.
The scene comes in the penultimate episode of the series, which launched Friday, and features a conversation between Dan and his young daughter with Chloe (Lauren German), Trixie (Scarlett Estevez), who has been devastated over her father’s death for months and unable to cope without him.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Lucifer Season 6 Episode 5 “The Murder of Lucifer Morningstar.”] Well, Dr. Linda Martin (Rachael Harris) was looking for a challenge after having God (Dennis Haysbert) on her couch, and she gets one as Lucifer‘s final season continues: future child angst faced by present-day parents. And she’s not the only one taking her job to the next level in “The Murder of Lucifer Morningstar” because Chloe Decker (Lauren German) decides it’s time to put her detective hat on once again to solve a mystery: the title of the episode. Plus, Maze (Lesley-Ann Brandt) and Eve (Inbar Lavi) are planning their wedding — and honeymoon (that’s where the spikes and moat will come in), and forensic scientist Ella Lopez (Aimee Garcia), the only one in the dark about the truth about her friends, may know more than anyone could even guess. History Won’t Repeat Itself Following Rory (Brianna Hildebrand) calling her “Mom,...

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Lucifer Season 6, Episode 4 “Pin the Tail on the Daddy.”] “I can’t wait to watch the rerun on Jerry Springer,” Maze (Lesley-Ann Brandt) quips as Lucifer (Tom Ellis) searches for answers after an angel showed up at his penthouse claiming to be his daughter. And to think — she says that before she has the entire story. Picking up where “Yabba Dabba Do Me” left off, Lucifer continues to insist Rory (Brianna Hildebrand) can’t be his daughter (whom he apparently abandoned before her birth) but there does seem to be something when he looks into her eyes. Still, he refuses to believe it’s possible. But he does plan to clear up the misunderstanding before he and Chloe Decker (Lauren German) start their new heavenly positions. His brother Amenadiel (D.B. Woodside) takes Rory’s presence to mean that maybe baby Charlie will become an angel one day and helps Lucifer...

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Lucifer Season 6 Episode 3 “Yabba Dabba Do Me.”] Lucifer (Tom Ellis) is still on a quest to prove he can be God, and in “Yabba Dabba Do Me,” he finally seems to figure it all out… just before his entire world is upended. Sure, he started caring about Carol Corbett (Scott Porter). But sort of off Dr. Linda Martin’s (Rachael Harris) suggestion, Lucifer decides to help someone with whom there’s no chance of that happening again: the first criminal he and Chloe Decker (Lauren German) caught together, Jimmy Barnes, who killed the devil’s friend. He may be dead, but that makes it “almost easier,” Lucifer admits. He can just pop down to hell. Chloe insists on joining him; Amenadiel’s (D.B. Woodside) necklace makes her incredibly strong, so it’ll help her survive a trip to hell. Once down there, she spots Lucifer’s throne (“it looks so...

Spoiler Alert: Do not read if you have not watched the sixth and final season of “Lucifer,” streaming now on Netflix.
After a Fox cancelation, Netflix revival, a planned ending and then an unexpected second revival, “Lucifer” has come to an end — albeit with plenty of twists.
Though the series ended where showrunners Joe Henderson and Ildy Modrovich intended — with Lucifer (Tom Ellis) and Chloe (Lauren German) rehabilitating doomed souls in Hell — the unexpected sixth season led to the arrival of one of the biggest twists of the series: Rory (Brianna Hildebrand), the time-traveling grown daughter of the duo.
With Rory enraged over her father’s apparent abandonment, and Lucifer insisting he would never repeat what his dad did to him, it allowed the series to dive deeper into the relationship between Lucifer and Chloe, as they tried to figure out what happened.

(Warning: This post contains major spoilers through the fifth episode of the sixth and final season of “Lucifer.”)
If you’re reading this post right now, we’re 99% sure you are one of the “Lucifer” fans who has just reached the point in Season 6 where it is revealed that Rory, the new character played by Brianna Hildebrand, isn’t just some random angel with an ax to grind, and she isn’t just Lucifer’s (Tom Ellis) angry, abandoned daughter, she’s Chloe (Lauren German) and Lucifer’s daughter — from the freaking future.

“Lucifer” star D.B. Woodside is proud that the Netflix fantasy series returned to the topic of Black Lives Matter and police brutality in its final season with an Amenadiel-centric episode that he believes finally tackled the issue “head on,” following a Season 4 attempt that he was “a little disappointed” with because it “danced around” the conversation.
“I’ve always said that [‘Lucifer’ showrunners] Joe [Henderson] and Ildy [Modrovich] are two of the nicest people I’ve ever encountered,” Woodside, who plays Lucifer’s (Tom Ellis) angel brother, Amenadiel, told TheWrap. “And they have always had kind of an open-door policy. This particular topic, for all the obvious reasons, is personal for me. Being a Black man, being someone that was abused by the police constantly from seven years old till I was in my late 20s. But this one was personal.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Lucifer Season 6 Episode 2 “Buckets of Baggage.”] If your last boyfriend turned out to be a serial killer, you’d have some trust issues, too. That’s the boat forensic scientist Ella Lopez (Aimee Garcia) is in when it comes to a future with Detective Carol Corbett (Scott Porter), and who can blame her? Fortunately, on Lucifer, she knows a couple of people — unbeknownst to her — with superstrength to help her break into places to get some answers. (Someone tell her the truth already!) Speaking of those two, Lucifer (Tom Ellis) takes a step towards (eventually?) officially becoming God (and we absolutely love his “This is the voice of God” as he chimes in while observing an interrogation). Meanwhile, Chloe Decker (Lauren German) puts on her detective hat again and completely destroys her house…for fun? The end is nigh and we are not prepared, y’all. Lucifer‘s sixth and final season dropped (fittingly) midnight with 10 perfectly crafted episodes that find God-to-be Luci (Tom Ellis) and former LAPD partner Chloe Decker (Lauren German) fully coupled up. But that is just where it all starts. How it ends remains to be binged, so we’re not gonna say a word. What we will say is that it has been a grand time spent with Lucifer since its debut on Fox and eventual move to Netflix. This is one of those shows where the fun the cast was having together translated to an equally joyous experience for the fans. The cast’s appreciation for viewer support, their generosity of time and engagement at annual Comic-Cons, and their fan interactions on social media have been nothing short of heavenly. Even when things were going to Hell in a hand-basket in the real world,...

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for the Lucifer Season 6 premiere “Nothing Ever Changes Around Here.”] When Lucifer picks up again, it’s been about a month since the titular devil (Tom Ellis) and his archangel twin Michael (also Ellis) faced off to determine who would take over for their retired father, God (Dennis Haysbert). Lucifer won and … he’s still on Earth. But don’t worry, he plans to bid adieu to the City of Angels tomorrow, as he informs a motorcycle cop (the same one who pulled him over in the pilot). And so for his last night before his ascension, he takes Chloe (Lauren German) on a magic-filled date night (and tries his hardest not to hear how every trick is accomplished). Chloe Decker, when the show premiered in 2016. (Netflix picked up the series after Fox canceled it in 2018.) The living embodiment of the DC Comics character, Ellis’ LAPD consultant proves to be a perfectly aloof antihero, helping solve crimes while getting into lots of cheeky trouble. Netflix dropped the trailer for the upcoming sixth and final (for real this time) season of “Lucifer” on Tuesday, revealing that Lucifer Morningstar (Tom Ellis) and Chloe Decker (Lauren German) are having a hard time letting go of their normal(ish) life in Los Angeles and heading up to the Silver City so the once-Devil can take his rightful place on the throne after earning the title of God.
“What’s the rush? Becoming God is a big job. Maybe he doesn’t want to go in half-cocked,” Chloe says to Amenadiel, when he comes to tell Lucifer it’s time for him to ascend. “I should definitely be full-cocked,” Lucifer adds.
While the almost-Lord on High and his soulmate are procrastinating, Ella (Aimee Garcia) says the “apocalypse” appears to be on its way and a mysterious angel with red wings (played by Brianna Hildebrand) is seeking vengeance on Lucifer for some reason.
