The first album he bought was "With the Beatles" by The Beatles.
He gave up singing early in his career to concentrate instead on his guitar playing because he felt he could never compete with the lyrics and voices of artists such as Cat Stevens and James Taylor.
He was awarded the MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) in the 2019 Queen's New Years Honours List for his services to Music and Charity in Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands, England.
The whole thing about The Beatles and I think the whole thing about records that were made at that time, with the limited technology that was around then, was what you got was a great performance.
