Neil Marshall’s Hellboy has a tall hill to climb. Fans of the character have a deep and abiding affection for Guillermo del Toro and Ron Perlman’s take on Big Red. Depriving them of their long desired third installment in favor of a new film with a recast lead was always going to be a hard sell. But hey, it’s not like we’re getting any other Hellboy anytime soon, so we may as well give it a chance, right?
Sure, but then came some ominous rumblings from test screenings, with audiences claiming the dialogue, villain and story were lacking, with the summary being that it was “pretty bad.” And then came that trailer and hoo boy, it sucked. With makeup and prosthetics that look objectively worse than the previous two films, cringe-worthy one-liners and generic looking action, fans weren’t exactly happy.

The first trailer for the new Hellboy film was released last week, and it was met with some mixed reactions. I’d say the majority of fans weren’t impressed.
I was personally expecting the trailer to be a bit darker and not as upbeat as the one we got, especially because that’s the kind of film that the cast and crew have been teasing in their interviews!
Well, Tim Gonzales came to the rescue and recut the trailer to have an eerier and more brooding tone, and it actually makes the film look better! This is the trailer that would have gotten me excited about the movie! This is what the creator of the video had to say:
I'm a huge fan of Guillermo del Toro's Hellboy films, and was bummed out when Ron Perlman, despite his best efforts, was unable to get Hellboy 3 greenlit. When a...

Can you believe that it's been 20 years since Starship Troopers was released in theaters? It's crazy, and it makes me feel so damn old! As a way to celebrate the 20th anniversary, Tim Gonzales put together a modernized trailer for the film and he did a great job! He released the trailer with the following note:
"I was 11 when I saw first saw it in theaters, and I remember it being one of the most visceral experiences I've ever been exposed to at that point, with all the gory violence and casual nudity. My parents were cool with it; they had let me watch movies like Predator and Aliens prior to seeing Paul Verhoeven's take on war with an alien species.
"Looking back, the political satire throughout Starship Troopers was completely lost on me as a kid, and I instead just took it in as a grandiose sci-fi war epic.

I was a prime fan of Spawn at the time that the 1997 movie came out. I was deep into the comics and collecting all the action figures. Unfortunately, I walked out of that movie with the feeling of utter disappointment. That movie should have been so much better. Visually, it was awesome for the '90s, but the script was just awful.
Spawn fan and video editor Tim Gonzales has a different memory and opinion of the film and he created a modern-style trailer for the movie that you can watch below. The video came with the following note:
Growing up in the 90s, I was a pretty big Spawn fan. I was especially keen on the action figures from the series because their build quality was on an entirely other level compared to other toys.
When the Spawn movie came out in '97, I was around 11 years old at...

Apparently I saw clips for Ghost In The Shell last night and didn't even realize it! The clips were so short that I thought the Geisha sequence was some part of Mr. Robot that I didn't understand. Now that I know what it is, I can agree with the fans that while Ghost In The Shell looks promising, the clips were too short.
Luckily, we have guys like Tim Gonzales who go and combine the clips in a digestible way and add music from the original soundtrack as well as clips from the 1995 film. Check this out below and tell me you're not excited enough for this film to forgive them casting ScarJo. ...

There’s a bit of footage that has already been released for Patty Jenkins' Wonder Woman, but we still have yet to see a full trailer. Tim Gonzales couldn’t wait for that trailer to be released so he created his own using the footage that was released, along from footage from a few other movies. His fan trailer turned out to be impressive as hell, and he really makes it feel like an epic film. Hopefully, the full trailer turns out just as good as this one! The musical score used in the trailer is fantastic and it was created by Audiomachine. It’s called "Red Sorrow" and it was composed by Paul Dinletir. It really makes the trailer pop!

A few weeks ago Warner Bros. shared some footage from Patty Jenkins' upcoming Wonder Woman film, and there was some really cool stuff to see. YouTube user Tim Gonzales took that footage and the footage from a few other films to create a spectacular fan trailer for Wonder Woman that really does a great job highlighting the World War I setting. In all honesty, this is probably one of the most impressive fan-made trailers that I've seen. Here's a note from the creator:
We're still a year away from seeing Wonder Woman make her big screen debut, but after seeing the first footage from Gal Gadot's solo outing as The Amazon Princess during the CW Justice League special last month, my hype levels went through the roof.
Then just a few days ago, the final Batman v Superman trailer dropped and we heard a line of dialogue from...

Wow! I haven't seen The Last Starfighter in forever. After watching this modern style trailer for the 1984 film, though, I am compelled to watch it again. This trailer is freakin' radical, and as I watched it, memories of me watching this movie as a kid came flooding back. I sure do love that feeling. The trailer was fantastically edited together by Tim Gonzales, who says:
"The Last Starfighter is one of my favorite sci-fi movies. I watched it again the other day and had the urge to cut together a more modern/updated trailer for it. If you haven't seen it, and are a fan of sci-fi, definitely check it out!"
Enjoy the awesome fan-made trailer!
