The Creepshow 2 episode of The Black Sheep was Written and Narrated by Andrew Hatfield, Edited by Brandon Nally, Produced by Lance Vlcek and John Fallon, and Executive Produced by Berge Garabedian.
Its hard for a sequel to be better than the original – no, hey! Don’t close the article and please hold all hate in the comments until the end. I’m not saying Creepshow 2 (watch it Here) is better than the first movie, that’s just silly. Ok, so it’s hard for sequels to eclipse their previous iteration. Godfather II is always the answer to that but there are other things that you can prefer. Some people prefer the breakneck action of Aliens to the slasher in space of Alien. Others may enjoy Friday the 13th Part 2 with its higher violence (although it does have the same body count) and introduction to Jason to part 1’s mommy revenge story.

Although far from the first horror anthology, Creepshow quickly established itself as the quintessential one. After several stalled attempts to work together, George A. Romero and Stephen King — two undisputed masters in their respective fields, each in their prime — finally collaborated in 1982. With both creators having grown up on EC horror comics of the 1950s like Tales from the Crypt, The Vault of Horror, and The Haunt of Fear, it made sense that an homage to those works would bring the two titans of terror together.
Creepshow packs five tales (three originals and two adapted from existing King short stories) plus a wraparound that bookends the film in two hours flat. The Halloween-set framing story finds a disparaging father lambasting his son for reading horror comics before throwing away the latest issue of Creepshow. Beckoned by the silent host known as The Creep, the tales within the discarded comic serve as the anthology’s segments.

One of the undisputed classics of horror cinema, George Romero's Martin has received a 4K restoration supervised and approved by its original DoP, Michael Gornick, for this Blu-ray release from Second Sight. Like the film's protagonist, it looks incredibly good for its age, and it's presented with a suite of extras which will provide hours of pleasure for any fan.
Often audio commentaries run out of steam after a little while. By contrast, the first two of these, which have also been restored from the archives and feature George Romero himself amongst others, will leave you feeling as if the conversation has been cut off prematurely - but not in a bad way. Romero's enthusiasm for his subjects never waned, and here he demonstrates an impressive memory for the cast and crew members and even extras who brought Martin to life. Despite his prodigious talent, it was always apparent that part.

George A. Romero is a name that is synonymous with the horror genre, and for good reason. His films, particularly his “Living Dead” series, have become icons of the genre and have influenced countless filmmakers. However, one of Romero’s lesser-known films, Martin, is just as worthy of recognition and analysis as his more famous works.
Martin tells the story of the titular character, played by John Amplas, who thinks – despite evidence to the contrary – he’s a vampire. Martin lives with his elderly cousin, Cuda (Lincoln Maazel), who buys into Martin’s belief that he is a cursed vampire and treats him accordingly. However, unlike the vampires of folklore and fiction, Martin does not possess any supernatural abilities. He must drug his victims...

The pseudo-vampire film Martin was George A. Romero‘s personal favorite of all the films he had made – and now Second Sight Films has brought the film to 4K Uhd! Copies can be pre-ordered directly from Second Sight if you’re in the UK, but the company is not able to ship outside of the UK and Ireland. In the US, you can pre-order the release from Zavvi or Diabolik. 4K Uhd discs are region free, but the accompanying Blu-ray discs are locked to region B.
Written and directed by Romero, Martin has the following synopsis:
Young Martin is entirely convinced that he is an 84-year-old blood-sucking vampire. Without fangs or mystical powers, Martin injects women with sedatives and drinks their blood through wounds inflicted with razor blades. After moving to Braddock, Pennsylvania to live with his superstitious uncle, who also believes Martin is a vampire, Martin tries to prey...

Chatting with /Film's Max Evry over a recently released special edition Blu-ray of the 2015 documentary "Smoke and Mirrors: The Story of Tom Savini," the conversation turned, naturally, to horror and one of Savini's most well-known makeup fx contributions, George Romero's 1982 horror anthology "Creepshow." The classic October viewing staple hits its 40th anniversary this year and while many anthologies have followed in the EC Comics-inspired footsteps since, few have the lasting power of the Stephen King-penned original.
Filled with Tom Savini-engineered special effects for each of its five segments, "Creepshow" thrilled audiences with headless matriarchs, a creature-in-a-crate, a moss man, waterlogged ghouls, and cockroach kills. The fans love it, but Savini credits his longtime friend and the film's director George A. Romero for its legendary status. Savini tells Evry:

For the newest installment of Phantom Limbs, we’ll be cracking open the pages of Creepshow 2 and poring over “Pinfall”, an unproduced segment of that 1987 horror anthology. Adapted from an unpublished Stephen King story by George A. Romero, “Pinfall” was originally slated as the second story to unfold in the sequel before it was ultimately axed in favor of “The Hitch-hiker”, the third tale in the finished film.
Joining us for this peek into an unmade Romero is Benjamin T. Rubin, the Horror Studies Collection Coordinator for the University of Pittsburgh Library System. Mr. Rubin was kind enough to take time away from overseeing the library’s George A. A new episode of the JoBlo Horror Originals video series Wtf Happened to This Horror Movie? has just been released, and for this one we’re digging into the making of one of my all-time favorite movies: the 1987 horror anthology Creepshow 2 (watch it Here)! To find out what went into the making of Creepshow 2, check out the video embedded above.
Directed by Michael Gornick from a screenplay by George A. Romero (based on stories written by Stephen King), Creepshow 2 has the following synopsis:
Join our old friend, the rotting Creep himself, as he introduces this horror anthology which presents gruesome looks at three tales of horror: a hit-and-run driver in “The Hitchhiker”, a wooden Indian in “Ol’ Chief Wooden Head”, and four friends whose vacation on a secluded lake turns into a nightmare in “The Raft”. Released in 1978, George A. Romero's "Martin" follows a young man, played by John Amplas, who thinks he is a vampire. Martin doesn't have any vampiric powers, so instead, he stalks around drugging women, cutting them with a razor blade, and then drinking their blood. Eventually, Martin decides to start preying on criminals – but his lifestyle is further complicated when he falls in love with a housewife. Second Sight Films is restoring "Martin" for a new 4K release, but that's not the only "Martin" news. Michael Gornick, the film's cinematographer, has revealed on social media that Romero's rarely-seen three-and-a-half-hour director's cut of the film has just...

Fine performances from a quartet of unfamiliar lead actors, hordes of malevolent zombies convincingly brought to life by hundreds of local volunteers, groundbreaking make-up and special effects by Tom Savini and a wholly involving storyline combine to make Romero’s finely crafted horror show a real winner.

I remember seeing the 1978 classic, Dawn of the Dead, in the mid-90s. It was one of the first horror movies I ever really fell in love with, and helped turn me into a fully fledged horror fan. George A. Romero’s masterpiece has become an iconic picture in the history of cinema, and one of the most beloved horror films of all time. While it wasn’t the first zombie movie, it certainly changed the landscape of what a zombie movie could be. From the location to the music to the scenes of gore, Dawn of the Dead is absolutely and undeniably great.

We look back at the films based on Stephen King's writing. This time? It's Creepshow 2...
The film: The Creep arrives in town with a fresh batch of stories for another boy named Billy, who delights in grabbing a copy of the Creepshow comic. He reads the tale of Old Chief Wood’nhead first, in which an elderly couple find themselves victimised by an armed robbery in their general store. Next, The Raft, in which four college students take trip to a lake to go swimming, only to find out there’s something in the water. Finally, a married woman travelling home from a meeting with her lover loses control of her car and runs down a hitch-hiker, but flees from the scene to keep her life in order.

As a lifelong fan of the original Creepshow—one of the first R-rated horror movies I ever saw as a kid and still my favorite horror anthology of all-time—it has taken me years to come to terms with the fact that Creepshow 2 is not bad. In fact, it’s quite good at times. But because it failed to capture the lightning-in-a-bottle magic of the first film (I mean, you had George A. Romero, Stephen King, and Tom Savini all working at their peaks), I have always ignored the fact that there’s a lot to like in Creepshow 2, even if it does fall short of its predecessor’s greatness. Thankfully, Arrow’s new special edition Blu-ray helped put me in my place.

We have a busy week of horror and sci-fi entertainment releases to look forward to, especially for those of you cult and indie horror fans out there. Grindhouse Releasing is bringing Lucio Fulci’s insane Cat in the Brain to Blu-ray, and the recent indie thriller Road Games is getting a release on July 12th as well, courtesy of Scream Factory. One of my personal favorites from 2016, Jeremy Saulnier’s Green Room arrives on both formats this Tuesday via Lionsgate, and Synapse Films is releasing the recent Creepshow documentary Just Desserts.
Other notable Blu-ray and DVD releases for July 12th include Model Hunger, Slasher: Season One, 13 Cameras, the Steelbook edition of Blood and Black Lace, and Pop Art editions of The Birds, Psycho, and King Kong.

Stars: Hal Holbrook, Leslie Nielsen, Adrienne Barbeau, Fritz Weaver, Leslie Nielsen, Carrie Nye, E.G. Marshall, Viveca Lindfors, Ed Harris, Ed Harris | Written by Stephen King | Directed by George A. Romero
Creepshow is an anthology of five stories, some written specifically for the film by Stephen King and others adapted from his own short stories. With tales that include a dead father rising on father’s day for a family reunion, macabre drownings, monsters in crates, a strange “green” infection you’ll never forget and cockroaches revenge every story has a suitably creepy and memorable end.
I could take a look at each story in the anthology but I’m sure that people who are reading this review will no doubt have already seen the film before, if not then you are in for a treat – this is a movie directed by George A. Romero, based on the writing of Stephen King,...

We frequently disagree with mainstream critics on their critiques of horror films. It seems as though the majority of entertainment journalists are not able to accept horror films for what they are intended to do: scare the audience and entertain. Not every horror film is meant to be taken seriously or to make a profound statement and we think that’s ok.
We are left wondering if mainstream film critics dismiss horror films as a lesser art form and perhaps tend to view them as not worth their time. In light of that, FEARnet has been running a recurring a piece exploring good horror movies that received ‘rotten’ reviews on the aggregate film rating site Rotten Tomatoes. Since the series has proved popular, we are bringing you a third installment.

Anthologies were a dime a dozen in the 1980′s. Whether is was smaller mediums like television [Amazing Stories, Monsters] to theatrical flicks [Cat's Eye, Deadtime Stories], the idea of several mini-films for the price of one was something horror fans were craving, although the general public could care less, which would explain why there has never been a box-office smash from the configuration.
In 1982, best-selling author Stephen King and zombie guru George A. Romero teamed up for their love letter to EC Comics’ Tales from the Crypt with the impeccable Creepshow. What they pulled off is quite remarkable considering the biggest drawback of the vignette format is you usually have a few stinker segments to go with the winners; it is the law of averages. This was not the case here as Romero, working from King’s screenplay, weaved together ordinary situations and gave them an ironic and gruesome twist. Unfortunately, at the time, Creepshow was buried...
