The 68-year-old appeared on stage at Cortes Alexander's annual holiday show at Sterling's Upstairs at the Federal in Hollywood, CA, on December 22 to support her close friend. The star went on to perform a duet of 'I Love a Violin' with Alexander and received a standing ovation from the enthusiastic crowd, which included Barbra Streisand's son Jason Gould and half-sister Roslyn Kind. Andy Brewster (Seth Rogen) is about to embark on the mother of all road trips when he is guilted into brining his mom Joyce (Barbra Streisand), along for the ride on a cross country adventure that careen through comical curves on the way to a surprising connection. Rogen plays a struggling young inventor searching for a lucky break as Streisand is a pesky parent and vibrant widow ready to unravel her lonely lifestyle. But when they come together in the front seat of a sub compact, with years of family habits and secrets between them, it shakes up both of their lives.
At a recent press conference we had the opportunity to speak with Mrs. Streisand and Seth Rogen about working together, which one is funnier, Barbra’s thoughts on the new camera technology out on the market, what’s the secret to her success and why she really doesn...

Barbra Streisand would really rather relax than star in a movie.
"I like not to be bothered," she said during a recent interview. "I like to look at the ocean and swim in my pool and play with my dog and see my son."
But for the director and writer of The Guilt Trip, in theatres Wednesday, Streisand was the only choice to play Joyce Brewster, a loving but meddling mom who sees the bonding opportunity of a lifetime when her only son, Andy (Seth Rogen), invites her on a cross-country road trip. Streisand declined the role for a year. Then her real-life son, Jason Gould, joined the chorus of voices urging her to do it, so the legendary 70-year-old entertainer made a few "requests" of producers.

"Scrooge & Marley," is a modern adaptation of Charles Dickens's holiday classic, "A Christmas Carol," due to hit theaters later this month. While the plot remains the same, this version retells the story with a "gay sensibility" that "will appeal to audiences of all persuasions." The movie stars openly gay actor David Pevsner as Ben Scrooge and "Saturday Night Live" alum Tim Kazurinsky as the ghost of Jacob Marley.
And those aren't the only Lgbt-friendly parts of the film. Jason Gould, openly gay son of Barbra Streisand, performs the film's theme and special end credit song, "Amazing."
Get your first listen of the song:
Gould recently shared the stage with his mother on her much-celebrated "Barbra: Back to Brooklyn" concert, singing "How Deep Is The Ocean?" in the newly built Barclays Center.
"Amazing" will be featured on the film's soundtrack and can be purchased on iTunes later this month.

New York — Barbra Streisand was full of Brooklyn pride as she belted out well-known tunes with passion during a concert at the newly built Barclays Center.
Thursday night's three-hour show was Streisand's return to her hometown, where she's also performing Saturday on her "Back to Brooklyn" tour.
The 70-year-old told the crowd of 18,000 that the last time she performed solo in the New York City borough was "on somebody's stoop on Pulaski Street" as an 8-year-old.
She entered the stage in a shimmery black blazer and long skirt, holding her hands close to the microphone as she hit the right notes on more than two dozen songs, including "People," "Evergreen" and "The Way We Were."
"Hello Brooklyn," she yelled. "Who said you can't come home again, right? Just Thomas Wolfe."
A video from "summer 1979" played on a large screen as people from Streisand's neighborhood talked about the singer, commenting on her talents,...

“Hello, Brooklyn!” Barbra Streisand called out to her hometown’s swanky new Barclay’s Center early on in her three-plus hour concert. The last time she did a solo show in Brooklyn, she told the cheering crowd, was when she was 8 and singing on a stoop on Pulaski Street. Remember that, she asked her brother who was in the audience? (In case you’re wondering, he scored good seats, not great.) She looked singularly Streisandly, in a shiny black number that had enough sheer to show off those famous legs. “You like the dress?” she asked the crowd. “Good! Donna Karan!

Barbra Streisand celebrated her 70th birthday in style on Tuesday by partying with celebrity pals John Travolta, Steven Spielberg and Warren Beatty.
The diva and her husband James Brolin marked her age milestone by inviting 80 guests, including her stepson Josh Brolin, his wife Diane Lane, actor Pierce Brosnan, designer Donna Karan and saxophonist Kenny G, to Taverna Tony in Malibu, California, where they enjoyed traditional Greek food.
Streisand reveals it was a night full of memories - and her favourite moment came when her son Jason Gould hit the stage and showed off his vocal talents.
She tells People.com, "It was an intimate magical event with only very close friends, people I've known and loved more than 20 years.
"The highlight of the evening was my son's film that he made for me. People kept asking, 'Who is that singing?' And when I said it was Jason, everyone was blown away by the beauty and soulfulness of his voice. Quincy Jones wanted to sign him on the spot."
And that wasn't all: "My friends made it an evening of surprises for me, flying in the remarkable Israeli mentalist Lior Suchard and gifting me with the performance of my favorite singer, Johnny Mathis, and many, many more highlights."...

Q: So Lance Loud was the first openly gay person on reality television, on An American Family in 1973. I assume The Real World’s Pedro Zamora was the second. So who was the third? – Martin, Philadelphia, Pa
A: Norman Korpi (who is gay, but was portrayed as bisexual on the show), appeared on the first season of The Real World in 1992 and actually preceded Zamora, who didn’t appear until the third season, in 1994.
In the U.S., the first non-Real World reality show participant was Survivor’s Richard Hatch in 2000.
Since then, there have literally been hundreds. It’s surprising how far we’ve come so quickly, isn’t it?
Q: With the royal wedding fever gripping England two weeks ago, a question struck me, in terms of gay rights.

HollywoodNews.com: Stop the presses: None other than Prince, dressed like Little Lord Fauntleroy, introduced Barbra Streisand last night at her MusiCares Person of the Year dinner at the La Convention Center. He’d been sitting quietly to the side most of the evening, although at one point he did mildly greet Elvis Costello and his wife Diana Krall, in a sea of 2500 music industry types and stars. This means Prince and Costello sat through a three hour plus evening of performances you might noe associate with their ilk- from the sublime (Leona Lewis) to the sensational (Stevie Wonder).
But then again, so did real legends like Sidney Poitier, Quincy Jones, Sam Moore, and Judy Collins, and a legend who stole the entire show–Tony Bennett, 83, and the master.
At Streisand’s table, her inner circle– husband James Brolin, son Jason Gould, songwriter lyricists Marilyn and Alan Bergman.

(This marks the beginning of our 80s week, where -- over the next three days -- each of the site's critics will post reviews or commentary on notable 80's films, as we did in previous years for the 50s, 60s, and 70s.)
We often cry out for the good ole' days, when movies were better than they are now. But most of that is simple generational discrimination and selective blindness. You can look at any era and find as many bad movies then as there are now. It's just that our memories of the bad and forgettable have faded, while the gems cling desperately to our collective consciousness.
But where it concerns romantic comedies, it is absolutely true. They don't make 'em like they used to. When is the last time you saw a studio romantic comedy that was not premised on a high concept? That didn't involved a contrived misunderstanding?...
