- Brunette silent screen star, former child actress. First in one-reel shorts with Carl Laemmle's Independent Motion Pictures (IMP), before finding stardom after appearing in the feature film "Traffic In Souls". She later set up her own production company with her husband, the cinematographer Raymond C. Smallwood. Ethel retired from films in 1922, eventually selling make-up for a major cosmetics company.
