The Emmy-nominated, record-breaking independent online comedy “Con Man” has found a new home, one that producers deem a perfect fit: Syfy. The network announced Friday during the show’s Comic-Con panel that it had acquired both seasons of the “Con Man,” which will premiere on television this September.
The Alan Tudyk series is a somewhat fictionalized version of his experiences as a well-known sci-fi actor who attends a lot of fan conventions. This is big news not just for fans of “Con Man,” but for anyone fascinated by the evolution of the concept of independent television.

As we waited in Line Jace showed off the Con Man game app to others.
This past weekend at Long Beach Comic Con I knew that Con Man was going to have a panel featuring Nathan Fillion, Pj Haarsma and Nolan North, but I did not expect the overwhelming support for the show as well as their brand new app “Con Man: The Game”. Alan Tudyk could not be in attendance since he was busy this past weekend getting married (congratulations sir!). But the crew on hand did one hell of a job entertaining the crowd. This was one of the few panels this weekend that had a line zig zaging out the door and into the parking lot, although some would argue that a good amount of folks were actually there to save their seat for the Firefly panel since the room was not going to be cleared in between panels.
