Egyptian-born producer. Started out as a salesman for Paramount Francaise in 1931, then became active as a distributor. With brother Robert Hakim (I) co-founded Paris Film Production in 1934, their first success being
Pépé le Moko (1937) with
Jean Gabin. After a brief sojourn in Hollywood in the mid-'40s, returned to France where he worked primarily on French/Italian co-productions.
