Film, about a retired Raf pilot, is the debut feature of Steven Hall.
Oscar-winning actor William Hurt has boarded the cast of A Pair Of Silver Wings, a UK drama about a retired Raf pilot.
The project is due to shoot in the UK, Malta and Italy in 2019.
It tells the story of Edward Enderby, a seventy-two year-old veteran pilot of the Second World War who travels to the Mediterranean island of Malta and the hillsides of Northern Italy on a journey of self-discovery and personal redemption. Hurt will play a fellow war veteran, the American Eagle Squadron pilot Lucky Santini.

Super Ltd has acquired Jack Bryan’s documentary “Active Measures,” which details the decades-long connection between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, and set an Aug. 31 release.
The film, which premiered in April at the Hot Docs festival in Toronto, includes reporting on Trump’s alleged dealings with Russian mob figures, and analysis on Russia’s meddling in the 2016 Us Presidential Election.
The release will be day and date with exclusive theatrical engagements in New York and Los Angeles and on digital platforms.

President Trump has spent the better part of the past week stumbling from news cycle to news cycle trying to convince Americans that, despite 18 month’s worth of evidence to the contrary, he has faith in the U.S. intelligence community and has actually been very tough on Russia. First, he claimed he misspoke during his press conference with Vladimir Putin he said he didn’t see why Russia would have interfered in the 2016 election. A day later, he said he didn’t believe Russia was still targeting the United States,...

As the gun control debate rages on in wake of last month’s tragic shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, the Oscar nominated live-action short DeKalb Elementary couldn’t be more relevant.
The film, written and directed by Reed Van Dyk, depicts the mass school shooting that wasn’t — it’s based on a 911 call from a 2013 incident in which Antoinette Tuff, an Atlanta elementary school bookkeeper, was able to convince 20-year-old gunman Michael B. Hall to put down his weapon and surrender to police.

Ahead of the Academy Awards, we’re reviewing each short category. See the Live Action section below and the other shorts sections here.
DeKalb Elementary – USA – 20 minutes
There’s a moment in Reed Van Dyk’s DeKalb Elementary where the young, mentally unstable white male shooter (Bo Mitchell’s Steven Hall) exits the school in search of a suicide-by-cop scenario. He opens fire on the police — receiving bullets in return — until the courageously calm black female receptionist (Tarra Riggs’ Cassandra Rice) asks him to come back in so as not to hurt himself. It’s a surreal exchange because you place yourself in her situation and realize you would probably start silently praying that the cops do grant his wish. This whole ordeal is over if they succeed at shooting him dead. The lockdown ends, the scared children in their classrooms remain safe, and another gun-toting domestic terrorist is off the street forever.

This year’s batch of Oscar nominated live-action shorts — five in total, including two from the United States — features a startlingly varied selection, from topics to genre (there’s even a stray comedy in here). Yet, despite the wide range of films on offer for this year’s award, the five nominees are bonded by a strong take on timely political issues (from gun control to religious tolerance) and personal anxieties that hardly seem out of place in seriously strange times. Look closely — this batch might not be as unconnected as it seems.

Ronan Parke is reportedly earning the highest fees of all the Britain’s Got Talent finalists, despite the fact that he didn’t win the show last week.
The 12 year old crooner was pipped to the post by Scottish singer Jai McDowall on the final of the ITV series, however sources have claimed that he is now commanding £30,000 for just 15 minutes’ work, while Jai is being offered £15,000.
A music industry insider explained the pay discrepancy to The News Of The World, saying:
“He is the biggest star to emerge from Bgt since SuBo.”
And some of the more zany acts will be laughing all the way to the bank too. Eccentric Jean Martyn and wacky Steven Hall are charging £3,000 for a fifteen minute appearance.
The source added: “Even some of the real duds will earn money for the next six months because they’ve become great novelty acts.

Stephen Mulhern has revealed that the result of this year’s Britain’s Got Talent final was one of the closest in recent years.
The Britain’s Got More Talent presenter revealed on the ITV2 sister show that although Jai McDowall won the series earlier tonight, after receiving the most public votes, he only brought in 2.5% more than young singer Ronan Parke, who has been the bookies favourite to win for weeks.
The order of the other contestants was as follows:
10: Jean Martyn
9: Les Gibson
8: James Hobley
7: Steven Hall
6: Paul Gbegbaje
5: Michael Collings
4: Razy Gogonea
3: New Bounce
It was a shock result, however if we’ve learned anything from reality TV series in days gone by, it’s that a performer doesn’t necessarily need to win to succeed. Look at Susan Boyle, who came second on Britain’s Got Talent two...

Steven Hall made his big Britain’s Got Talent return for this evening’s final show.
The telecommunications engineer has previously impressed the viewers with his wacky dance performances, though at this point we’re not entirely sure that he isn’t an actor in disguise.
This evening Steven fitted a Lot of popular tracks into his medley, including Dizzee rascal’s Bonkers, Ant and Dec’s Let’s Get Ready To Rumble and and Jls’ The Club Is Alive.
Much as we love his hip swinging and fast thrusting, tonight, Steven’s routine was a bit too jerky and we thought there was too many song changes for him to get into any one theme. However, there were still some hilarious laugh out loud moments and we don’t think the almost pension age performer will be short of bookings any time this year.

The acts that performed on tonight’s Britain’s Got Talent were certainly of a higher standard than those on last night’s episode and up to the last minute, we were completely unsure of who would triumph and take the final two places on tomorrow night’s final.
We had a fair idea that Mr and Mrs and Antonio Popeye stood no chance of making the grade, but Michael Collings, Follow The Right Path along with Razy and Michael had proved so popular in earlier episodes and done so well this evening , that we found the outcome quite difficult to call.
At the end of the results show, Ant and Dec announced that dancer Razy Gogonea had won the episode outright and having won the highest amount of public votes, would now join Jai McDowall, Steven Hall, Les Gibson, James Hobley, Ronan Parke, Jean Martyn, New Bounce and Paul...

Britain’s Got Talent is almost over for another year and tonight, we will find out the final two acts making it through to tomorrow’s grand finale episode.
We already know eight of the acts who will be competing in front of Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Michael McIntyre and David Hasselhoff to follow in the footsteps of Paul Potts, Diversity and Spellbound and we have to admit, it’s a diverse bunch.
Their’s a slightly wacky piano player, a pensioner who likes thrusting his hips while dancing, some really talented young singers and a very decent impressionist, who has promised to parody show boss Simon tomorrow night.
Check out the final show’s lineup below (we will update the list to include tonight’s successful acts at a later stage) and click on each acts name, for a bit more information on them and their history on the series!

David Hasselhoff has admitted that he was disappointed when Steven Hall was announced as being in the top three on last night’s Britain’s Got Talent.
The panellist looked furious when Oxford based acappella group Out of the Blue were sent home during the results show and speaking on Britain’s Got More Talent afterwards, The Hoff admitted:
“I’m sick that they’re not going through and I think the Queen would like them a lot more than dancing Steve.”
David was even less pleased when all three of his fellow judges voted against him and chose Steven to progress to the live final of the series.
He added:
“Steven got that act from YouTube. He can not sustain it. He could hardly get through it. What else is Steven going to do?
“Edward is creative, he’s got a fantastic voice, he’s got fantastic charisma. He came on and wowed everybody.

We had put Edward Reid in the same bracket as Steven Hall when we were preparing to watch Britain’s Got Talent tonight.
Both men were hilariously funny when they first tried out for the ITV show, but both acts were funny because they were unexpected……so we thought they may have trouble topping their previous performances, without the element of surprise.
Tonight, Edward took the tune of George Benson’s Greatest Love Of All and over it, sang a song about Postman Pat, The Wombles, Popeye and The Teletubbies.
It was weirdly good, and we were as impressed by Ed’s vocal prowess as his subject matter. The judges were too, though Simon Cowell thought he’d ‘gone mad’ but ‘amazingly’ he had to admit that he ‘liked it.’
The Hoff loved it too and praised the Scottish drama teacher for doing a ‘great job’. He added that he...

Steven Hall made his big Britain’s Got Talent return this evening.
The boring looking telecommunications engineer stunned the audience and judges with his comedic and energetic dance routine at the audition stages, but then he had the element of surprise on his side and tonight, we weren’t sure that he’d be able to replicate his earlier success.

He then showcased some Egyptian moves and his Cheerleading dance to ‘Mickey’ was a sight to behold. Also thrown into the mix was a bit of Jai Ho by the Pussycat Dolls and a big gong, marking the end of the routine.

Stephen Mulhern has admitted that he loved watching Steven Hall’s dance routine on Saturday night’s Britain’s Got Talent episode.
Steven stunned the judges and the audience when he tried out for the ITV show earlier this year. The 53 year old telecommunications engineer, who looked more like a boring geography teacher, surprised Amanda Holden, David Hasselhoff and Michael McIntyre with his shimmying and gyrating and you can watch the full video below.
Mulhern, who fronts the ITV2 spinoff show ‘Britain’s Got More Talent’ was speaking on This Morning about his favourite acts of the opening episode and admitted that Hall stood out for him. He compared him to Stavros Flatley from the 2009 series saying:
He kept his act very secret. When you see him, quite simply you don’t realise what he’s going to do.

You would assume that after getting three yeses and a standing ovation from the Britain’s Got Talent judging panel, you would be well on your way to the live rounds of the show.
However, it has emerged that many acts who impressed the judges and enjoyed a fantastic response from the audience after their audition, didn’t even make it to the big London reveal earlier this month.
On last night’s launch show we saw Michael Collings, Steven Hall, Gay and Alan Cooper and David Knight getting a unanimous response from Amanda Holden, David Hasselhoff and Michael McIntyre. But what did those yeses mean?
Most people assume three yeses guarantee a pass to a stage much like X Factor’s bootcamp. However, for many this is not the case.

Steven Hall was one of the acts on tonight’s Britain’s Got Talent that we loved without really knowing why.
He was so grey and boring during his pre-audition chat and his monotone chat with Ant and Dec almost sent us to sleep. Most acts rehearse for hours a day, but when the 53 year old telecommunications engineer revealed that he practices once or twice a week, in a small kitchen with ‘limited space’, we weren’t holding out much hope for his act.
However, then he started to dance. His disco medley included the tracks Do You Love Me, The Twist, Macarena, Billie Jean, Thriller, The Birdy Song, Ymca, Slim Shady, Britney, Mc Hammer, Flashdance, Queen, and finishes with Lord of the Dance – all songs we love to bop to during a girly night out.
We don’t know if it was the soundtrack, the seriousness in his face...
