In December 2007 his book Ronald Harwood's Adaptations was published in the UK. This is the first book solely about screenwriting from one who has won an Oscar for screenwriting.

(1980) His play, "The Dresser," was first performed at Manchester Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester, England and later at London's Queen's Theatre in England with Freddie Jones, Sir Tom Courtenay, Isabel Dean (Manchester only), Jane Wenham (London only), and directed by Michael Elliott.
