Watford star Odion Ighalo has hinted that he would find it very difficult to resist a transfer to Manchester if they were to submit a bid, according to reports.
The 26-year-old Nigerian striker is a boyhood fan of the Red Devils and has caught the attention of several top clubs following his impressive form in the Premier League.
No official bid has been submitted just yet, but United will surely be hoping to bolster a forward line that has found goals hard to come by throughout the first half of the season.
Ighalo said: “I don’t think I will be moving but I’m not sure I’d say no if United called. They were my team growing up. I loved watching Andy Cole and Dwight Yorke on TV.
“They were my idols and playing at Old Trafford has always been a dream.”

Arsenal’s second-largest shareholder has effectively granted Arsene Wenger an unlimited stay at the Emirates – by stating that the Gunners boss should be in charge for as long as “he wants”.
Wenger still has two years remaining on his Arsenal contract and it is unclear whether or not the 65-year-old would look to stay in north London past 2017.
Yet, should Wenger wish to do so, Alisher Usmanov has seemingly given him the perfect opportunity.
Quoted in The Telegraph, Usmanov said: “If I have the right, I keep Arsene until he wants.
“It is a gift for any club to have a coach like Arsene Wenger.”
In fact Usmanov – who owns more than 30% of Arsenal – also believes Wenger would put into a “very difficult position” at the Gunners due to the financial restraints imposed during the construction of the Emirates Stadium.
Usmanov continued (The Telegraph):

Football has come a long way since its first club, Sheffield Fc, was founded back in 1857.
Games are now 90 minutes long, referees are allowed to use whistles and women can have a go too but after more than a century and a half one tradition still remains… Ugly shirts. Over the years players have tried laughing off these creations as some sort of boardroom prank, only to find themselves being forced to wear something close to rainbow vomit.
Honestly, these shirts are so hideous Mario Balotelli might actually want to wear one on a night out.
In a way it’s reassuring that multi-millionaires can be forced to dress like clowns but for the fans it’s no laughing matter as a handful of clubs prove an old adage correct, money can’t by sense – or style. From garish and nauseating to the bizarre and little bit scary,...

Newcastle United head coach Steve McClaren has admitted he was “relieved” to finally get his squad together for pre-season training – although he is more excited for when he can see the Magpies’ internationals at close hand on Monday.
The Magpies squad met up for their first pre-season training session on Wednesday and McClaren revealed he was glad to get the hard work started ahead of their opening friendly with Gateshead at the International Stadium a week on Friday.
Following the Heed match-up, Newcastle then fly out to the USA for a three-match tour, before away trips to Sheffield United and York City, and then a final pre-season game with Borussia Monchengladbach at St James’ Park.

Newcastle Transfer News Round-Up: Every Player The Magpies Have Been Linked With From June 15th-21st
Scott Heavey/Empics Sport
Newcastle United have a massive summer ahead of them. Having only just confirmed their Premier League status on the final day of last season, they want to avoid a repeat of such a scenario during the 2015-16 campaign.
Now that Steve McClaren has been confirmed as the new head coach on a deal that could rise to as many as eight years, the former England manager will be keen to get his hands on Mike Ashley’s chequebook so his reign gets off to a flying start.
Players will depart St James’ Park in the coming weeks, but equally, at least seven are believed to be likely to arrive on Tyneside. Centre-backs, wingers and strikers are of the utmost priority, with at least two proven forwards wanted by the Magpies.
As ever, plenty of players have been linked with a move to St James’ Park with...

Newcastle United have officially unveiled Steve McClaren as their permanent head coach a full six months after Alan Pardew left for Crystal Palace.
The former England, Middlesbrough and Derby County boss had been the favourite for the role ever since Pardew left the Magpies for the Eagles at the turn of the year and has penned a three-year-deal at St James’ Park.
McClaren’s contract has the option for another five years which could see him in charge for the next eight years.
And the 54-year-old’s remit includes a top eight Premier League finish and a cup win.
However, having reportedly turned the Magpies down on two occasions already in 2015 – first immediately after Pardew left in January and then with three matches left of the season – McClaren has finally agreed to take up the position having been sacked as Derby County boss last month.

Have Newcastle United finally placed all of their cards on the table? Is it now down to a case of throwing a coin and letting it land on either heads or tails in their extended pursuit for a new head coach?
The Magpies will sit down with at least two candidates this week, discuss how they envisage each of them fulfilling the post vacated by Alan Pardew at the turn of the year and then temporarily occupied (albeit extremely poorly) by John Carver, and then likely make their extremely-belated choice. That choice is dependent on which way they flip the coin – will it be Steve McClaren or Patrick Vieira?
Heads and they go for experience, they opt for a man who has managed Middlesbrough to the UEFA Cup final, who won the League Cup with the Boro, who failed miserably as England boss, but then who...

Newcastle United are planning a third approach to Steve McClaren to become their head coach according to The Telegraph’s Jason Burt.
After two failed attempts earlier in the season, the second with just three games of the Premier League campaign remaining, it looks like a case of third time’s a charm for The Magpies.
Many thought McClaren had burnt his bridges with the North East side after rejecting their advances on more than one occasion, although this certainly isn’t the case as the powers that be at St James’ Park clearly see him as the only man to lead their revolution next season.
Newcastle owner Mike Ashley came out and said that he would be backing the team in order to end the 46-year wait for a major trophy on Tyneside.
No pressure then, Steve.

Aston Villa prodigy Jack Grealish has enjoyed a rise to national prominence in recent weeks after playing a classy part in the club’s all but retained Premier League status, as well as helping to secure their date at Wembley on the 30th May.
Fleet-footed Grealish has been a refreshing creative spark for a Villa side who have amassed the joint-second worst goal tally in the Premier League (30) this season. The Solihull-born winger has become a vital part of manager Tim Sherwood’s rejuvenation in the Midland’s which has landed them seventh in the top-tier’s form guide.
It emerged that Ireland boss Martin O’Neill’s advances had been spurned for a second time this week as Grealish continues to play ‘hard to get’ with his second nation. He qualifies via his paternal grandparents and has represented the Emerald Isle all the way from U-15 to U-21 level,...

Strange as it may seem, Troy Deeney is rooting for Newcastle United to avoid the Premier League drop – because the Watford striker is desperate to score at St James’ Park next season.
Deeney has no affiliation to the Magpies, being a self-professed Birmingham City supporter, but the 26-year-old has just secured promotion to the top flight with Watford and he wants Newcastle to be one of their 19 Premier League opponents next season.
The Hornets captain contributed 21 goals to Watford’s promotion campaign as they finished second behind Bournemouth – and the ground he is aiming to find the back of the net at in the next campaign is St James’, but that will only happen if John Carver’s men can secure survival from their remaining three matches.
