Received the City of Leipzig's new bi-annual Caroline-Neuber-Preis, an
award honoring women who fairly contributed to German speaking stage
acting (January 1998).
She taught acting at the Hamburg School of Music and Theater from 1993
to 2006. Her most prominent students were Bibiana Beglau, Marie Bäumer and
Marc Hosemann.
As she was one of many artists supporting songwriter Wolf Biermann against
the communist regime in East Germany, she emigrated to West Germany in
1982.
Studied acting at the School for Film and Television in Potsdam from
1959 to 1962.
