GUADALAJARA, Mexico -- Emmy nominee Miguel Icaza has launched Lupe Post in Mexico City, a state-of-the-art postproduction studio associated with Technicolor Montreal.
Icaza and Luis Furtado, account manager of the U.S. and Latin America at Technicolor Montreal, said Lupe Post will offer one-stop-shop services for film and television production. So far, more than $4 million has been injected into the upstart studio.
Icaza said the studio will provide everything from camera rentals and lighting equipment to special effects service and color correction using a Christie 2K digital projector, the first of its kind here in Mexico.
The first film project lined up is "Linea de Fuego", the latest feature from Colombian director Rodrigo Triana.
Lupe Post will be operated exclusively by filmmakers.
"The concept of the studio is filmmakers working for filmmakers," Icaza said.
Icaza garnered an Emmy nomination for his work as director of photography on "The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles."
Technicolor Montreal will collaborate with wet lab services, including digital intermediate and printing capabilities.
