Ghost hunters will find more than they bargained for on Halloween in upcoming genre-bender The Unearthly. Per Deadline, the indie sci-fi horror comedy has found its lead in star and producer Patrick Warburton.
Josh Sternfeld (Fortress: Sniper’s Eye) is set to direct The Unearthly for Centerboro Productions, with production scheduled to begin early this year in Connecticut.
In The Unearthly, “a team of paranormal investigators live-stream a ‘Halloween Special’ ghost hunt of a notorious haunted mansion, finding the source of the evil at hand to be far more deadly than they ever could have imagined. Warburton plays Tank McCrary, an old school paranormal investigator in the style of Ed Warren and Peter James, who hosted over 20 live television specials in the ’90s before an incident ruined his career. Stubborn and egotistical, he likes to do things his way. He doesn’t trust technology, relying on his analog tape recorder,...

London, Jan. 12: A British engineer has stunned archaeologists by claiming that their theories on how ancient Egyptians built pyramids were wrong.
Peter James said that he believes that they created the structures by piling up rubble on the inside and then later attaching bricks, the Mirror reported.
James' claim has challenged hundreds of years of accepted belief that the huge structures were built with giant blocks carried up huge ramps.
The structural engineer said that what original theory proposes in impossible, as the ramps for this kind of work would have to have been at least a quarter of a mile long to get the right angle for the bricks to be taken to such great heights.
James, who has studied pyramids.

"Divergent" star Theo James - formally, Theodore Peter James Kenneth Taptiklis - is the star of the CBS police drama "Golden Boy," but before he began his sure-to-be-successful journey to stardom in his mid-twenties, he had at least one pretty dirty job. James told Zap2it, "I was a laborer for two seasons, and it killed me ... They were making an office site. I had to make holes, and they said, 'Listen, mate, you need to dig up those sections with a shovel.' Eight of us were sitting around with saws and no masks. And they said, 'Yeah, that's asbestos. Bury it.'" London, Dec 31: Crime author Peter James has revealed that the erotic novel 'Fifty Shades of Grey' does not have the same effect on men as it does on women.
The 65-year-old author, whose novel 'Not Dead Yet' ousted 'Fifty Shades of Grey' from the number one slot in the bestseller lists, asserted that he thinks E.L James book is popular with many women, but has less effect on men, as he has read it and felt nothing, the Telegraph reported.
The crime author also said that although the novel has sold over 65 million copies worldwide, it falls flat when it comes to what turns a man on.

And then I remembered Peter and I thought .Hang on, I like that bloke Peter James. and said .Do you want to come over here and shoot this low-budget film?. And he did. That was the first.
I did enjoy working with him but we never thought it was anything special. In fact, when we finished the film they were planning not to release it.
We had very similar ideas on lighting and he had tremendously good taste . his lighting was always exqusite. Also, the thing I liked about him (and for that matter Don McAlpine) was that he would vary his style to suit the subject matter,...

Downton Abbey became a worldwide television hit before I even had some basic grasp on the thing, so, of course, you know how these things work: the show gets big, a lead in said show does a few movies, and they eventually break away from their launching point to pursue a career in the better medium. It’s probably too early to say if that will happen with Hugh Bonneville, but a film is in his future.
As ScreenDaily (via ThePlaylist) reports, the actor will take to the big screen to lead Dead Simple, an adaptation of Peter James‘ crime novel that Daniel Eckhart will script. The story, as described by ScreenDaily, is a “race-against-time thriller about a bridegroom buried alive after a stag night prank goes wrong[;] Roy Grace must find this living coffin while coping with the mysterious disappearance of his wife.”

[1] Whether the world really needs another Romeo and Juliet adaptation is up for debate, but Carlos Carlei's upcoming film boasts some intriguing talent, at least. The script comes from Gosford Park and Downton Abbey writer Julian Fellowes, while young up-and-comers like Hailee Steinfeld, Douglas Booth, Ed Westwick, and Kodi Smit-McPhee are lined up to star. The latest addition to the project is the always welcome Paul Giamatti, who's set to play Friar Laurence. A confidant to both Romeo and Juliet, the character plays a key role in the star-crossed lovers' fates. Shooting on the film, which is rather discouragingly being described as "Romeo and Juliet for the Twilight generation," is slated to begin this month in Italy. [Variety [2]] After the jump, Dr. John Watson and the Earl of Grantham book big-screen gigs. Before we get started with today’s news, I have to confess that I’ve never seen Downton Abbey. In fact, like most ignorant Americans, I thought it was “Downtown Abbey” until the Golden Globes show a few weeks back. That being said, here’s some news that will certainly make sense to fans of the show. Hugh Bonneville is the latest actor (following in the footsteps of Jessica Brown-Findlay, amongst others) to parlay the British drama’s success into paying big screen work. IndieWire says Bonneville has been tapped to play the lead role in the upcoming adaptation of Peter James’ bestselling novel Dead Simple. Television’s Earl of Grantham will play detective Roy Grace in the film – which finds the sleuth searching for a groom...

An Australian Film Institute (AFI)-hosted launch party this evening named Geoffrey Rush founding president of the newly titled Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (Aacta), at the Overseas Passenger Terminal, Circular Quay.
Introducing Rush, AFI patron Dr George Miller said, “There is a handful of people who have won the triple crown acting, the Oscar, Emmy and Tony, and he’s the only one to win these awards and an AFI.”
As president, or ‘prez’ as he called himself, Rush announced the name of the new academy, the Australia Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (Aacta), which he suggested sounded like a Sydney drag queen.
Addressing the launch, Rush said, “I am honoured to represent our industry as president of the newly-formed Australian Academy. Over half a century ago the AFI was founded and since that time our film and television industries have developed beyond our wildest imaginings.

Have you ever seen a bromantic dark comedy? No? Nor had I until director Ron Howard and writer Allan Loeb teamed up with Vince Vaughn and Peter James, resulting in the bizarre and incongruous concoction that is The Dilemma. With drama-movie gold such as A Beautiful Mind and Frost/Nixon under his belt Howard isn’t exactly known for his comedic prowess so whilst The Dilemma appears to reflect the director’s flair for the dramatic the film strains to realize its full and in my opinion mis-advertised potential as a buddy-comedy against the wave of unexpectedly dark emotions thrown up by the characters.

Peter Andre launches his pop career for the third time on August 10 with his new rock/urban single 'Behind Closed Doors'. Digital Spy has dug underneath the recent tabloid tittle-tattle about his marriage break-up to find ten unusual pop facts about the former six-pack flasher. 1. Peter James Andrea was born on February 27, 1973 in Harrow, London to parents Thea and Savvas. He grew up in Australia and is of Greek Cypriot origin. 2. Louis Salamone and 45 Bleecker Street Theatre present two new plays in one evening in a Recession Special Double Bill playing in The Green Room at The Theatres at 45 Bleecker Street in Greenwich Village, NYC. "Sailor Man", which won the "Overall Excellence - Outstanding Play" Award at the 2008 NY International Fringe Festival, is a darkly comic tribute to the exploits of a beloved spinach-eating seaman. Created by Ryan Iverson and Scott Peterman and directed by Peter James Cook with fight choreography by Jacob Grigolla-Rosenbaum, the fast, furious and bloody hour of spinach-fueled mayhem features the writers in the respective roles of Sailor Man and The Brute with Lauren Blumenfeld as Olive. Startlingly violent, it serves up Saturday morning cartoons, Tarantino-style. "Sailor Man", which is co-produced by The Two-Fisted Theatre Company, LLC, begins the double bill at 8 Pm. "Rumspringa", written and directed by Peter Zinn and featuring Jim Boerlin, C. S. Drury,...
