Allow us to jog your memory as to how much of a scary good time these killer alligator/crocodile flicks can be. From the hilariously campy to the horrifyingly credible, here are our Top 10 Favorite Killer Alligator/Crocodile Movies!
#10. Crocodile (2000) – Just a few weeks back we boldly stood up for what Tobe Hooper’s unabashedly trashy direct-to-video Crocodile – a movie that, while among the lower rungs of his illustrious filmography, is actually much more gory, violent and overall fun than people give it credit for. While cheaply made and poorly acted, the great thing about this flick is the sheer amount of killer-croc-action and exorbitant death toll as the prehistoric beast named Flat Dog chews, chomps, marauds and masticates every damn annoying human in its predatory path. A fall from grace in the eyes of many, Crocodile is minor-key Hooper having a damn good time! Get Here

One of the biggest and some would say overused tropes in horror movies is the killer stalking people in an outdoor setting. The main series for this is, of course, the Friday the 13th series but we have nearly countless other examples to pull from. Sometimes, like today’s entry, or The Burning, these stories and movies can be based on true events and make it even more frightening. Unlike The Burning, which is based on an urban legend with the true story being far from fact, Wolf Creek (watch it Here) had an original script that was tweaked to be based on the real life killers Ivan Milat and Bradley John Murdoch...

Similar to France’s New Extremity, Australia experienced its own significant genre resurgence in the 2000s. Most agree the Land Down Under’s golden days of filmmaking began in the ’70s and then drew to a close around the late ‘80s. This period, better known as the Australian New Wave, soared to new heights after the government issued substantial support for the arts. After a steep decline in the ‘90s, though, homegrown horror made a slow but noticeable comeback in the early 21st century. And no other movie from that era is more responsible for bringing Australia back into the conversation than 2005’s bleak and stylish Wolf Creek.
It wouldn’t be a mid-2000s horror movie without the practically mandatory and hyperbolic “based on true events” promotion. In this case, though, Wolf Creek is indeed inspired by a ripped-from-the-headlines true crime. Several, in fact. Ivan Milat, who died in...

Whether helping to contain a demonic presence alongside John Jarratt and Lincoln Lewis in Chris Sun's 'The Possessed', or serving up a memorable cameo in Kiah and Tristan Roache-Turner brothers’ zombie action-thriller 'Wyrmwood: Apocalypse', Lauren Grimson has never shied away from showcasing her talents in horror.

Australian director Chris Sun is known for his violent, frequently quite viciously so, genre films such as Charlie’s Farm and Boar. The Possessed however marks his first attempt at a supernatural film, and it’s based on the allegedly true exploits of Mark Gardener who claims to be able to perform exorcisms, he calls them “clearings”, and free people from demonic possession. Of course, I don’t believe Gardener’s claims, but hopefully, it’s at least an entertaining bit of bullshit.
The Possessed certainly opens on a promising note, with a man dragging a woman from a bathtub full of blood. This is Jacob and the woman is his wife Carissa and she’s just tried to kill herself again while possessed. Jacob casts the demon out, but it appears and whispers something...

With dozens of shows like What We Do in the Shadows and Chucky representing our favorite genre on the small screen, there’s no denying that we’re living through a horror renaissance on television. However, the amount of quality programming being produced is simply staggering, and it’s becoming hard to keep up with all these new releases, especially when we have to keep track of so many different streaming services. That’s why it’s understandable that a few televised gems would slip through our fingers, destined to become lost in a sea of streamable content.
But fear not, because we here at Bloody Disgusting have come up with a handy list of six underseen horror shows to watch during this Halloween season! While none of these were hits on par with a Mike Flanagan production, I firmly believe that they all deserve more fans and are all still worth a watch.

Kangaroos are so cute, aren’t they? That’s why kangaroo hunters make for such bastard villains. They were bastards in Crocodile Dundee and they were bastards in Wake in Fright, which is a superb film, by the way. However, neither of those films concern kangaroo hunters quite as much as Fair Game, a slick little exploitation film from 1986.
The hunters, of which there are three, have a pretty simple dynamic. Two of them, Sparks (Garry Who) and Ringo (David Sandford), are total morons – man children with a cruel streak, while Sunny (Peter Ford), their leader, looks like an Rm Williams ambassador. He behaves like one too, presenting himself as a fair dinkum bloke. However, he rather spoils that image when he relentlessly antagonises Jessica (Cassandra Delaney), pursuing her through the outback.

By lots of people’s standards, Jon Jarratt was a late bloomer when it comes to acting. He didn’t grow up wanting to be an actor and he was already in his 20s by the time he got into the industry. That being said, once John got started in the business he knew he had to go full speed. Over the years, he has done more than make up for lost time. Along the way, he has become one of the most well-known and highly respected actors to come out of Australia. His ability to play a wide variety of roles

A movie featuring two actors I really like, John Jarrett (Wolf Creek) and Danielle Harris, as the leads had to be good, right? With Skin Collector I was going to find out.
I can say that when those two actors on screen together the film is at its best and the last third of the film features this a lot. They don’t necessarily have perfect chemistry but they are both very good actors and are putting in good performances, so it does work for the most part. Unfortunately, they are fighting against a really poor script, which at times has lines that I just shook my head at. Lines that it doesn’t feel like anybody would say in ‘real life’, let alone these characters.

Tagline: "Back from the Dead to Claim his Bride." Head Hunter is an indie title from director Julian Richards (Reborn). The film stars: Danielle Harris (Halloween 4) and John Jarratt (Wolf Creek). In the story, a serial killer is stalking people in the Portland, Oregon. One woman has survived his grasp, but Rood is determined to make her his bloody bride. Produced by Robert Weinbach, the film's concept poster is available here, with a couple of early stills. The movie poster shows Rood alone and in a hallway. Hacksaw in hand, this killer is ready for his next victim. Meanwhile, jars hold severed heads, in this gruesome graphic. As well, the stills show Harris and Jarratt. Jarratt is in what looks like a police uniform as Harris arms herself with a pistol. Both, stills introduce the film's main characters. Head Hunter is being repped by sales agent Jinga Films, for future distribution.

The Wolf Creek franchise has been surprisingly long-lasting, from the 2005 original horror movie to its 2013 sequel, and two seasons of a web-based show that ran from 2016 to 2017. Star John Jarratt, who plays the homicidal Mick Taylor in the series, has now revealed that a Wolf Creek 3 and a third season of the web program are in-development.
Speaking on Facebook, Jarratt indicated that new instalments in the Australian-based Wolf Creek franchise are likely, but that, like with other projects, things have been slowed down by Covid-19.
“To my delight – I have received an overwhelming amount of messages about Wolf Creek 3 – the season and the movie. [Franchise creator/director] Greg McLean and I have both projects in the works but unfortunately Covid-19 has the world at a standstill. Boar is a creature feature from director Chris Sun. The film was released on the streaming service Shudder, this past Summer. Now, the film is slated for a showing on DVD and Blu-ray this December. There have been rumours of a more goretastic version out there and the home entertainment release has not been rated. In the film, a family are targeted by a 14' monster, which stalks the Australian countryside. And, this giant has a taste for human flesh. Boar stars: Bill Moseley (Crepitus), John Jarratt (Wolf Creek) and Nathan Jones. A preview of the film's home entertainment release is hosted here. Director Sun has talked about his film several times, over the years. In interviews, Sun has mentioned his use of practical effects. In the new horror movie “Crawl,” a pack of enormous alligators invades a sleepy Florida town during a violent hurricane and proceeds to rip the cast apart, limb by limb. These nasty gators aren’t the first critters of their kind to terrify audiences, however. Here’s our list of ravenous reptiles, ranked in order from scariest to silliest.
1) Alligator (1980)
Two-time Oscar-nominated screenwriter John Sayles penned this gruesomely entertaining monster mash about a baby gator named Ramón who gets flushed down a toilet and mutates into a 36-foot behemoth lurking in the Chicago sewer system. When his appetite for human flesh gets the better of him, Ramón bursts through the sidewalk and chows down on a horde of terrified locals. Featuring colorful performances from cult film superstars Robert Forster and Henry Silva, plus witty direction from the ever-dependable Lewis Teague, “Alligator” is more than just the best rampaging reptile movie...

It’s not that Australian horror hasn’t been worthy of talking about; it’s that availability has been wanting due to limited distribution and the ravages of time that crumble many a worthy release. But this is a new age, and I’m thankful that companies like Severin Films are around to revive top-notch efforts like Next of Kin (1982), a surreal and haunting Italian-flavored genre piece that more than earns a revival.
The story goes like this: Linda (Jacki Kerin – The River Kings) returns to Monteclare Retirement Home upon the death of her mother, who has left the entire property to Linda. Overwhelmed at the prospect of running such a huge operation, she leans on head nurse Connie (Gerda Nicolson – Gallipoli) and Dr. Barton (Alex Scott – Romper Stomper). Familiar faces from her childhood, they offer a guiding hand in Linda’s transition as she reacquaints herself with her old home,...

Are you really named Christopher after horror icon Christopher Lee?
Sure am, my mum loved him as an actor and I guess I scored his name.
Your past horrors – Daddy’S Little Girl, Come And Get Me, Charlie’S Farm – were all R rated and came with some controversy. Is that why Boar is just gory creature feature fun?
When I first wrote Boar I wanted it to be R Rated as well, really violent kills and gore like my past films, people seemed to really love the kills in Charlie’s Farm and the Torture in Daddy’s Little Girl. I wanted the fans to get that same feeling and enjoyment from the bloodshed in Boar. I wrote Boar to be funny when it had to be funny and serious when it had to be serious. I wanted to give the fans a journey they could go on for 96 minutes,...

"There's nothing out there except dust and ruins..." Watch out for angry wild boars! Australia has given us many various wild and crazy creature features, and we have yet another one on the release line-up for 2018. Boar is a movie directed by Australian filmmaker Chris Sun about a massive, dangerous, angry wild boar. "It cares for none, defends its territory with brutal force, and kills with a raw, animalistic savagery unlike any have seen before." Yeah, just one massive, vicious, wild boar. The cast of Boar includes John Jarratt, Simone Buchanan, Bill Moseley, Melissa Tkautz, Nathan Jones, Roger Ward, Hugh Sheridan, Ernie Dingo, Chris Haywood, Ricci Guarnaccio, Emily Williams, and Steve Bisley. This looks like it gets very violent and very bloody, which is exactly what we should expect from Australian creature horror.
