Kareena Kapoor Khan Was Supposed To Do Karan Johar’s Kal Ho Naa Ho After K3G (Picture Credit: Facebook & IMDb)
Kareena Kapoor Khan is an actress who never used to shy away from demands and dared to quote the highest. The good part was she used to get what she quoted, and the bad part was she missed a lot of good stuff because of such demands. One such film was Kal Ho Naa Ho, which had a massive repercussion on her personal bond with Karan Johar.
The story of Bebo rejecting Kal Ho Naa Ho had two faces – one that was Karan Johar’s side that the world knows, and the second was Bebo’s side, which she once revealed brutally, making sure that the world knows she was cheated. For starters, the world knows that after K3G, Kareena was supposed to do Kal Ho Naa Ho for Karan Johar.

Karan Johar is one of those directors whose name is an adjective. Throughout his 25-year career as a filmmaker, perhaps one of the harshest critiques he’s read of his work is “That’s very Karan Johar.”
“I feel like I read, ‘Oh, this is so dramatic, but that’s very Karan Johar. … ‘Oh, this is so melodramatic. That’s so very Karan Johar.’ … ‘This is a world that you can’t believe, but that’s very Karan Johar,'” Johar told IndieWire during a recent Zoom interview on the heels of his latest directorial release, “Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.” “I’ve read, of course, a lot of great things as well, and I’m very grateful for that, but I’ve also had some really nasty things about my filmmaking. Having started his career in 2010 as an assistant director with the film My Name Is Khan, Varun Dhawan has come a long way with his popularity. With films such as Badrinath Ki Dulhania, Badlapur, Judwaa 2, October and Sui Dhaaga, he has also proven his versatility. Now he is ready for a multi-starrer like Kalank, produced by Karan Johar and directed by Abhishek Verman.
Has experience made him a better judge of a script?
"There is a huge change that has happened in the last 10 years of my career in terms of roles that I am offered. When I debuted in Student Of The Year, I do not think that anybody would have imagined that I am capable of playing a character like Zafar of Kalank. It took me 12 films to prove my worth and to gain the confidence of producers to budget a film like Kalank," Varun told Ians in an interview here.

One of the most-anticipated films of the year, Kalank, the saga of love set in 1940s, has been in the news ever since its announcement. Helmed by Abhishek Varman, the film is close to Karan Johar?s heart, as it was his father, producer Yash Johar?s last project that he conceptualised 15 years ago. Pandit who has lately been appointed as a member of the newly-revamped censor board says that Aib had no clearance for the controversial show. "All staged performances, plays or stand-up comedies in Mumbai have to get permission from the Maharashtra police. They also have to submit their request for permission to the cultural ministry. The Aib has done none of these. They got no bloody clearance to have the show," states Pandit angrily. Pandit says he has no problem with the content of the show being uploaded on Youtube.
