In 1994, he was set to make his feature debut as a director of
photography on Ridley Scott's film "Hot Zone" before it was cancelled.
Instead, he shot Scott's next project, White Squall (1996).
Began as a projectionist in the Lyric and Palace cinemas in Navan for the Kennedy family in the '60s. Subsequently moved to London, sidelining as a barman in addition to working in Kingly Photographic Studios in Soho.
