Four-time Grammy winner Lenny Kravitz will perform for Sunday’s emotional “In Memoriam” segment on the Oscars 2023 ceremony. While only 40-50 people are generally remembered for the television ceremony hosted by Jimmy Kimmel on ABC, over 200 people will be recognized on the Academy’s webpage starting that evening.

Producer Mairi Bett named Inspiration award winner.
Roy Button, Evp and MD at Warner Bros. Productions, is to receive the Production Guild Contribution to the Industry Award for his outstanding contribution to the development and sustainability of the UK film and TV industry.
The industry veteran will receive the honour at the Production Guild of Great Britain Awards, set to be held on Saturday (Sept 19) at The Grove, just outside of London.
The awards pay tribute to leading UK film and TV industry professionals working in production, locations, VFX, prod-production and assistant directing.
As head of physical production for Warner Bros. Productions, Button is responsible for all of the Us studio’s films based out of the UK, Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
He has also been the driving force for the studio’s investment in Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden, Europe’s largest studio and the production base for films including the Harry Potter franchise, [link...

A former Realtime Worlds employee has discussed the downfall of the studio and Mmo Apb. Staff member Luke Halliwell said that complacency and over-ambition were prevalent through the game's five-year development cycle. "The complacency showed through in so many ways," he said. "We were complacent about game design, papering over Apb’s obvious shortcomings and telling ourselves it would somehow come together at the last minute before release, [an argument that was strengthened by the experience of seeing Crackdown do just that]. Realtime Worlds has said that Apb on consoles is not a priority. CEO Dave Jones said that a console version of the Mmo would not go ahead without a publisher behind it. "That won't happen until we have a console publishing partner. That's the only thing that will trigger that," he told Eurogamer. Realtime Worlds has invited additional players to beta test its upcoming Mmo title Apb. Apb, which sees gamers play as criminals or law enforcement officers in the fictional city of San Paro, has been in beta since October.
