The new Music Supervisor category this Emmy season finally honors the supervisor’s creative contribution to narrative storytelling and music aesthetic: Licensing songs that are appropriately iconic and emotionally resonant, while touting some of the hottest new talent.
Here are the nominees: Thomas Golubic (“Better Call Saul” — “Sunk Costs”), Susan Jacobs (“Big Little Lies” — “You Get What You Need”), Manish Raval, Jonathan Leahy, Tom Wolfe (“Girls”— “Goodbye Tour”), Zach Cowie, Kerri Drootin (“Master of None” — “Amarsi Un Po”), and Nora Felder (“Stranger Things” — “Chapter Two: The Weirdo on Maple Street”).
The results included three female supervisors (Jacobs, Drootin, and Felder) and demonstrated the brand power of HBO (“Big Little Lies,” “Girls”) and Netflix (“Master of None,” “Stranger Things”). But in the end, it came down to a battle of dueling playlists.

Go behind the scenes with a young Amy Winehouse in the first trailer for the forthcoming film about her life.
Amy uses previously-unseen archive footage and unheard tracks to tell Winehouse's story in her own words.
Amy reunites filmmaker Asif Kapadia with his colleagues from Senna, the award-winning 2010 documentary about three-time Formula 1 drivers' champion Ayrton Senna.
Universal Music UK chief David Joseph has promised that Amy will offer "a very complicated and tender" look at the award-winning musician's life, intending to capture "the very heart of what she was about".
Winehouse rose to fame with her 2003 debut album Frank, which earned her a Mercury Prize nomination.
Her 2006 follow-up Back to Black featured the hit single 'Rehab' and won Winehouse five Grammys in 2008.
She also battled drug and alcohol problems throughout her career and her turbulent personal life, including her troubled marriage to and subsequent divorce from Blake Fielder-Civil, made her a frequent tabloid target.

Fashion legend Dame Vivienne Westwood will design the new trophies for the U.K.'s annual Brit Awards as part of organizers' plans to give next year's ceremony a complete overhaul. Brit Awards bosses have revealed the Outstanding Contribution honor, which has previously been handed to Sir Paul McCartney, U2 and Robbie Williams, will be scrapped at the 2011 event.
The prizegiving will also change venue from the longstanding Earl's Court area in west London to the O2 arena in south-east London. But it is the winners' trophies which will see the biggest change - organisers have announced that they will be created by "leading British creative individuals", with Westwood taking on designing duties next year.
