Actor Frankie Muniz may be known for his role as the titular character in Agent Cody Banks or for his open-wheel racing career. However, his most popular role has to be his seven-season stint on the Fox sitcom Malcolm in the Middle. The show, which also featured Bryan Cranston was extremely popular throughout its run.
With many shows receiving a revival or a reboot, fans of Malcolm in the Middle are also clamoring for new material from the beloved show. While a revival of the show has been teased by the cast multiple times, Muniz revealed that the process was closer to reality than usual and that the revival might just happen soon.

Did the creators of Malcolm in the Middle always have us fooled? Although the long-running sitcom technically has Frankie Muniz in every episode, the actor recently revealed to other contestants of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! Australia that he did, in fact, leave the show for a while. What exactly happened?
The former child star revealed that he left the sitcom for two entire episodes because of the continuous tension that was present on the set. Muniz’s career took off after he played Malcolm in the lead role, and in a short period, he rose to international fame. Likewise, Bryan Cranston’s career underwent a sea change after being featured in a pivotal role (Malcolm’s father) in the well-liked sitcom.

Frankie Muniz shared on the latest episode of “I’m a Celebrity Australia” (via News.com.au) that he once “walked off” the set of his beloved Fox sitcom “Malcolm in the Middle” when everyone else was refusing to stand up to certain people who were “controlling or rude or disrespectful.” Muniz starred on the comedy as the eponymous child genius for seven seasons, but he missed two episodes because of his decision.
“There were two episodes I’m not in. I walked off the set,” Muniz said, explaining that his actions were due to set tensions. “Everyone was so afraid to stand up when certain people were controlling or rude or disrespectful. Like they walked on pins and needles. I was so mortified by seeing people afraid to stand up for themselves, I was like: ‘Say something.’”

Malcolm in the Middle is a cult classic coming-of-age sitcom that has left a permanent mark on early 2000s television. Created by Linwood Boomer, the series originally ran from January 9, 2000, to May 14, 2006, spanning seven seasons and 151 episodes. Even though the story ended, Malcolm in the Middle has remained a major part of television history and it is, even today, considered to have raised a whole generation of children and teenagers who devotedly watched Malcolm and his family over the years.
Now, it’s been almost 20 years since the final episode aired, but there have been talks – for a while now – that a reboot with the original cast is in the works. The project is supposedly headed by Bryan Cranston, who played Malcolm’s dad, Hal, in the original series, but nothing official has been announced.

[This story contains spoilers for the season finale of The Changeling.]
The Changeling showrunner Kelly Marcel, and author and executive producer Victor Lavalle, say last Friday’s season finale was never designed to be an ending for the adaptation. But, they did want viewers to come away from the Apple TV+ series’ first season with a “what the fuck” feeling.
The duo, who appeared on a Saturday panel for the show at New York Comic Con, spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about the season finale, which saw Apollo (Lakeith Stanfield) and Cal (Jane Kaczmarek) — the leader of a band of women who have had their babies stolen by a Norwegian male-led cult called the Kinder Garten — joining forces against a cult member named William (Samuel T. Herring) and a giant, destructive “Fairy.”

The AppleTV+ series The Changeling began by introducing us to the couple: Apollo and Emma. This was their story. But not the story they had dreamt about. Somewhere in the middle, both of them crossed over into a horrific fairy tale, both literally and figuratively. This world was associated with the name ‘Cal’. There were many references to it, and it seemed he or she was the mastermind behind brainwashing Emma and destroying Apollo’s dreams of being a good father. Who was this mysterious Cal? Before that question could be answered, William Wheeler came into Apollo’s life, and things started unfolding. Both of these characters belong to the New York City that ‘we never knew existed’. Oh, but it does, according to the show, and we have neglected it to our peril. Let’s take a look at these two characters that represent good and evil in a...

This article contains spoilers for the final episode of Malcolm in the Middle.
Besides animated series, there are very few sitcoms which maintain a consistent level of hilarity with every beat of comic timing. No matter what point you turn on Malcolm in the Middle, any episode, something will make you laugh within 18 seconds. I’m not talking giggles or chuckles, but full-out guffaws that make you miss the next six jokes.
Other shows may be more consistent in overall quality, but none match the stream of funny that comes out of the series created by Linwood Boomer, himself the third of four siblings who was placed in the “gifted” class at school. After graduating, Boomer acted on Little House on the Prairie, another show focusing on a middle child. The semi-autobiographical Malcolm in the Middle doesn’t just call for a second look. It screams for a repeat binge.

Well, that was considerably more intriguing than the first three episodes.
The action and mystery kicked into high gear on The Changeling Season 1 Episode 4, which focused on Apollo's quest for answers after Emma's actions forever changed their lives.
Apollo's quest was never going to be easy, and a part of me believed Patrice before being revealed to be associated with the Wise Ones.
There was something sketchy about William on The Changeling Season 1 Episode 3, so he struck me as the type of person to have more than his fair share of secrets.
One of my theories (I have many!) was that William would be revealed as Brian, aka Apollo's father.
I know it's a stretch, but after the frantic nature of the first three episodes, it wouldn't have surprised me.
"The Wise Ones" allowed the characters and conflicts to marinade, making for the most cohesive installment of the series yet.

“The Changeling,” a riveting horror series adapted from Victor Lavalle’s acclaimed novel, weaves an unsettling tale of a parent’s deepest fears brought chillingly to life. It’s a beautiful, meandering tale filled with stunning performances and many books.
The series commences with a haunting narration by Lavalle against the backdrop of an ancient boat navigating rough seas. This chilling tale of Norwegian witches journeying to North America evokes a sense of both magic and foreboding. Much like the boat, the series fluctuates between tranquil waters and tumultuous waves, thrusting the audience into a chaotic descent, mirroring the protagonist’s experiences.
Apollo Kagwa (played by Lakeith Stanfield) and Emma Valentine (Clark Backo) are at the story’s heart. Their paths cross in a New York Public Library: he is a passionate rare bookseller and she is an astute librarian. Their romance kindles slowly — Apollo is immediately smitten, while Emma remains reticent,...

According to rudimentary Googling, Apple has a generally well-regarded parental leave policy. But according to the output at Apple TV+, there is anxiety in the water in Cupertino (or in the company’s Los Angeles offices).
Dropping this Friday, The Changeling is the second Apple TV+ series in five years blending fairy tale and horror to delve into maternal and paternal anxieties about nature, nurture and the price paid when parents are forced to leave babies behind to return to work.
Perhaps not as bluntly effective as Servant, The Changeling is an admirably ambitious series, especially on thematic levels, where it seems to be bursting with commentary on 21st century parenting. As storytelling, though, Kelly Marcel’s adaptation of Victor Lavalle’s novel is a mess. Though the series isn’t lurching through time and frames of reality without intent, its refusal to build any sort of momentum becomes increasingly frustrating.

In both dating and television, first impressions are everything. The Changeling begins with a meet-cute between used book dealer Apollo (Lakeith Stanfield) and librarian Emma (Clark Backo). She initially rejects Apollo, only for him to return continually to her workplace to ask her out again. The Apple TV+ show’s omniscient male narrator insists that while some would consider this “stalking,” he, gallingly, sees it simply as “persistence.”
The Changeling flashes back to the story of Apollo’s mother, Lillian (initially played by Alexis Louder and later by Adina Porter), who’s similarly pursued by Brian (Jared Abrahamson), a man who struggles with accepting the word “no.” She also, for some reason, finds this characteristic endearing. The series predominantly focuses on Apollo and Emma as they fall in love, move in together, and have a child, returning intermittently to Lillian’s story as she struggles to raise Apollo single-handedly after Brian disappears.

“Poker Face” fan-favorite Natasha Lyonne received a Best Comedy Actress Emmy nomination this year alongside Quinta Brunson (“Abbott Elementary”), Rachel Brosnahan (“The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”), Christina Applegate (“Dead to Me”) and Jenna Ortega (“Wednesday”). As of this writing, Lyonne is in last place to win at Gold Derby, with less than 3% of our prognosticators backing her. However, the fact that she recently gained the favor of the Television Critics Association proves she should be taken much more seriously. Are we underestimating her at the 2023 Emmys?
Given Lyonne’s status as the very first regular acting Emmy nominee from any Peacock program and her show’s absence from all other major categories, her doubters initially had a leg to stand on, but that isn’t the case anymore. Her TCA Award victory for Individual Achievement in Comedy is an undeniably big deal and gives her many statistical advantages that should cause her competitors and naysayers concern.

Young Sheldon is one of the best and most beloved family sitcoms out there. The CBS series started as a spin-off of the hit sitcom series The Big Bang Theory and follows the early life of one of the main characters of the original series. There have been many sitcoms about precocious kids but none of them are similar to Young Sheldon. Young Sheldon recently concluded its Season 6 and while you wait for Season 7 here are some similar shows that you should check out next.

But none of that genius helps them interact with people, especially women. All this begins to change when a free-spirited beauty named Penny moves in next door. It was clear the days of the Big Four networks dominating the Emmys were slowly coming to an end 20 years ago; however, despite cable networks starting to gain momentum (with two receiving their first major wins), NBC and CBS still made a strong showing at the 55th Emmy Awards on September 21, 2003. HBO came into the night with a strong 53 major nominations, while NBC had 38 and CBS had 28; in the end, HBO and CBS tied with eight majors awards each and NBC trailed with six. Garry Shandling opened the event with a comedic monologue, while numerous presenters, including Ellen DeGeneres, George Lopez, Conan O’Brien, Martin Short and Wanda Sykes, carried the rest of the show without a host. Read on for our Emmys flashback 20 years ago to 2003.

Bryan Cranston is now best known for portraying Walter White in Breaking Bad but before the AMC series he was the wacky father on Malcolm in the Middle. The comedy has been rumored to be getting a film treatment and Cranston said he would only be down to join “if it was a great idea.”

Bryan Cranston sounds ready to revisit Hal, his lovable patriarch from Fox’s Malcolm in the Middle.
During an interview with E! News that published online Friday, the Emmy-winning actor said he has heard talk about reviving the popular comedy, and he made it clear that he would enjoy exploring more from the series if the opportunity felt right. Cranston is currently promoting Showtime’s Your Honor, which launches its second and final season later this month.
“There was some talk about the possibility of doing like a reunion movie of Malcolm in the Middle,” Cranston said. “We had such a great family on that, and I certainly would be open to that if there was a good idea that came up like, ‘Oh, that would be fantastic to explore what happened to this family 20 years later.’ I can’t believe it’s already that, but that would be fun to do.

It's odd to think that there's a whole generation of people who only know Bryan Cranston as Walter White on "Breaking Bad," and not as the lovable sitcom dad from "Malcolm in the Middle." It was his role as the kind-hearted albeit often inept Hal Wilkerson on the show that had many scratching their heads when he was announced to lead "Breaking Bad," with the juxtaposition between the two roles often brought up in early reviews of the groundbreaking AMC series.
"Malcolm in the Middle" was a mainstay in the early '00s, nabbing a Peabody Award, seven Emmy Awards, a Grammy Award, and seven Golden Globe nominations throughout its run. The show was mainly focused on the titular middle child named Malcolm, played to perfection by Frankie Muniz.

Frankie Muniz dropped a bomb on fans of his best-known role as the genius-iq Malcolm in a dysfunctional family that also included Bryan Cranston as his father Hal.
Well, according to Muniz, Hal might be getting the whole band back together as Cranston is apparently writing a revival of the series Malcolm in the Middle.
While promoting his appearance on the new season of The Surreal Life, another early-aughts show being brought back, Muniz told Fox News Digital that he would “love” being part of the reboot.

This The Simpsons review contains spoilers.
The Simpsons Season 34 Episode 2
The Simpsons are looking pretty good after 34 seasons, some of them stuck in ruts, others doing wheelies over their competition. Sometimes all they need is a little encouragement and a steep incline. The season opener mocked a turtle, episode 2 features a mock jury. “One Angry Lisa” has the feel of the earlier seasons, it is a sillier entry, based on Evergreen Terrace’s perennial theme of missed marital bliss, and throws no judgements. This is a missed opportunity for an installment perfectly named for a legal parody, and the handlebars should have been the sidebar.
The title comes from the classic courtroom drama 12 Angry Men directed by Sidney Lumet and starring Henry Fonda. Its almost-hung-jury premise is a TV trope. Jack Klugman, who played in the original feature film, was stuck on a jury as Oscar Madison against Tony Randall...

Believe it or not, non-Jeopardy! viewers, but Celebrity Jeopardy! is a real thing and not just a classic series of SNL skits.
America’s favorite quiz show has been inviting celebrities on to try their hand at trivia since its ninth season in 1992. And yes, like in the aforementioned SNL skits, the questions are usually a bit “dumbed down” from the usual games. Still, many celebrities over the years have revealed themselves to be secret brainiacs with their surprising performance on the grueling game. Comedians like Cheech Marin, athletes like Aaron Rodgers, and actors like Jane Kaczmarek have all brought home some serious money for their respective charities.
Now, in its 39th season (and it second after the death of iconic original host Alex Trebek), Jeopardy! is going to give Celebrity Jeopardy! another go. This time, however, the stakes and scopes are much greater. Instead of being isolated to only a week within Jeopardy!

"I wanna be still, the way I want to get still." 1091 Pictures has released an official trailer for an indie, very dark comedy titled Killing Eleanor, which premiered at the Scad Savannah Film Festival and St. Louis Film Festival last year. A new film from director Rich Newey, this off-beat dramedy involves two women who strike up a friendship and a deal to help each other get through, or get out of, life. A terminally-ill old lady convinces a self-destructive pain killer addict to help kill her, in exchange for clean urine. Their right to die odyssey is filled with complications as Eleanor's past and Natalie's lies catch up with them. Uultimately, helping Eleanor die with dignity might just teach Natalie to live with dignity. Annika Marks co-stars with Jenny O'Hara, and with a cast including Jane Kaczmarek, Betsy Brandt, Thomas Sadoski, Camryn Manheim, and Chris Mulkey. Seems like...

WandaVision episode 6 “All-New Halloween Spooktacular!” finds Wanda Maximoff accelerating the situation in Westview quite a bit. The children are all allowed out of their homes for a Halloween celebration and the very boundaries of the town are expanded.
Fittingly for such an episode, the show’s sitcom homages experience quite a bump as well. After honoring Family Ties, Full House, and other ‘80s and early ‘90s TV comedies in episode 5, this installment speeds ahead to the more experimental 2000s. Fox’s superb Malcolm in the Middle is in the driver’s seat this time and both Tommy and Billy are our precocious protagonists.
Here are the many ways in which WandaVision episode 6 honors sitcom history.

A review of this week’s WandaVision, “All-New Halloween Spooktacular!,” coming up just as soon as I smell crime…
With “All-New Halloween Spooktacular!,” WandaVision basically skips over the Nineties(*) and heads straight to this century for an episode in the mode of Malcolm in the Middle. The show has cheated decades before — Darcy described the premiere episode as something from the Fifties, even though The Dick Van Dyke Show premiered in 1961 — so perhaps the writers are hoping nobody cares about exactly when Malcolm debuted (January 9, 2000, for the record).

Cloris Leachman, who won eight career Emmy Awards spanning six programs and 22 nominations and also earned a Supporting Actress Oscar for The Last Picture Show during a sterling seven-decade career, died Tuesday of natural causes at her home in Encinitas, CA. She was 94.
Her manager confirmed the news.
Among her most famous roles were recurring as Phyllis Lindstrom in The Mary Tyler Moore Show and its 1975-77 spinoff Phyllis. She also famously played the cigar-chomping, violing-playing over-accented Frau Blücher in Mel Brooks’ 1974 classic horror spoof Young Frankenstein. She reunited with Brooks to play Nurse Diesel in the 1977 Alfred Hitchcock takeoff High Anxiety.
More recently, she earned an Emmy nom for playing the too-hip Maw Maw in Fox sitcom Raising Hope and earned two Emmys and four other noms for her role as Ida in the network’s 2000s sitcom Malcolm in the Middle, opposite Bryan Cranston and Jane Kaczmarek.

Jennifer Aniston's splashy return to television series work with the Apple TV+ drama The Morning Show was met with heaps of praise, and a Golden Globe nomination. Aniston previously won a Golden Globe in 2003 for playing Rachel Green in Friends. She was previously nominated in 2002 for Friends and again in 2014 for the movie Cake. This time she's up against her The Morning Show co-star and fellow executive producer Reese Witherspoon in the Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Drama Series. But back when she took home a Globe in 2003 she was competing in the Comedy category and was up against Bonnie Hunt for Life with Bonnie, Jane Kaczmarek from Malcolm in the Middle, Will & Grace's Debra Messing and...

Seventeen years ago Jennifer Aniston won the first (and so far only) Golden Globe of her career thanks to playing Rachel Green on NBC’s ratings behemoth “Friends.” At the podium Aniston looked positively stunned, saying, “I barely just got here! Oh my lord, I never expected this to happen.” That year marked Aniston’s first nomination as a lead actress after previously being nominated in the catch-all supporting category. Above, watch the Golden Globes flashback video from the 2003 telecast.

Playing sympathetic characters was once a strong factor in winning Emmys. That seemed to be the case when actors like Jane Kaczmarek (“Malcolm in the Middle”), Steve Carell (“The Office”) and Hugh Laurie (“House”) kept losing for their acclaimed performances as prickly people. But in this era of antiheroes we’ve also seen lots of villains prevail, and this year could be no exception. How many vicious villains do you think will prevail?
So why do some unsympathetic roles prevail when others don’t? I have a theory I call the Macbeth Principle: voters might be turned off by garden variety jerks, but applaud performers who take on grand, Shakespearean levels of evildoing. That’s how actors like James Gandolfini (“The Sopranos”), Michael Chiklis (“The Shield”) Bryan Cranston (“Breaking Bad”), John Lithgow (“Dexter”) and Margo Martindale (“Justified”) could literally make a killing while Carell’s inept middle manager never prevailed.

Over the course of one night, a woman drives across La with her heroin addict brother in search of a detox center, with his two-year-old daughter in tow.
