Voices That Bring Anime to Life: Celebrating the Best Anime Voice Actors of All Time ( Photo Credit – IMDb )
Japan takes its anime voice actors very seriously to the point where they have special voice acting academies and schools to train them to master their art completely. This is exactly why these professionals are so versatile and have such natural, golden voices. In fact, a large number of avid anime fans prefer watching anime subs rather than anime dubs exactly because of this. Some Dub actors tend to exaggerate and overact as a way to compensate for the inconsistency in translations and syncing. Native voice actors retain the ‘authenticity’ that dubs lack.
The authenticity of the subs is attributed to the voice actors’ talent and how natural they are with their jobs. Here are some of the best Japanese anime voice actors of all time.

“Do all of you remember the name Red Ribbon Army?” That’s the first of many lines of expository dialogue in “Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero,” the latest animated action-fantasy adaptation-extension of the mega-popular “Dragon Ball” manga comics.
That opening line of voiceover narration also inadvertently prepares viewers for how convoluted the movie soon becomes.
Some tablesetting dialogue explains who the Red Ribbon Army are (bad guys) and why they’re back. The son of the Red Pharmaceutical Company’s founder, Magenta (voiced by Volcano Ota in the Japanese-language version and Charles Martinet in the English dub), wants to take over the world. But soon enough, this fairly straightforward beat-em-up spectacular, which pits heroic aliens against villainous robots, becomes a celebration of “Dragon Ball,” a decades-old anime institution.

"You can't trust people you meet at night." GKids has released an official Us trailer for a wacky, super fun Japanese anime titled The Night is Short, Walk On Girl, which premiered at film festivals last year and is getting a Us release this August. The film is the latest from Japanese filmmaker Masaaki Yuasa, who also made the musical Lu Over the Wall opening this year as well. The Night is Short, Walk On Girl is set over the course of one weird, "insanely long" night in Kyoto, following a teen girl only known as "The Girl with Black Hair" (or "Otome") as she experiences the nightlife. She's also pursued by a boy named Senpai, who comes up with awkward ways to bump into her. The Japanese voice cast features Gen Hoshino, Kana Hanazawa, Hiroshi Kamiya, Ryuji Akiyama, Kazuya Nakai, Yuko Kaida, and Hiroyuki Yoshino. I'm not the biggest fan of this animation style,...

Behind The Candelabra | The Stone Roses: Made Of Stone | After Earth | The Iceman | Thérèse Desqueyroux | Come As You Are | The Last Exorcism: Part II | 009 Re: Cyborg | Aguirre, Wrath Of God
Behind The Candelabra (15)
(Steven Soderbergh, 2013, Us) Michael Douglas, Matt Damon, Scott Bakula, Rob Lowe, Dan Aykroyd. 118 mins
The fact that Hollywood wasn't interested in backing a story involving celebrity, dictator-style kitsch, cosmetic surgery, rhinestones, signet rings and poodles (oh, and gay people) proves once again that nobody there knows anything. Douglas is terrific as the flamboyant but needy Liberace, and this true-life relationship drama is both hilarious and empathetic, harking back to a pre-Aids era of innocence and excess. Rob Lowe's hair provides excellent support.
The Stone Roses: Made Of Stone (15)
(Shane Meadows, 2013, UK) 96 mins
