She had a love of letter writing. She also had a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, painted, and collected spoons.
She was recommended by a friend to try acting while working as a clothing model in a local department store. She soon appeared in a small speaking role in a stage production of "Jane Eyre".
Upon her death, her cremains were scattered into the Garden of Roses at Pierce Brothers Westwood Village Memorial Park and Mortuary in Los Angeles, California.
She played a very small but memorable bit part in Samson and Delilah (1949). When Delilah and the Saran visit Samson in the prison house, Phyllis Kennedy peeks through the iron bars of a window and exclaims, "He still looks strong as an ox!".
