Rosalie Kunoth-Monks was born on January 4, 1937 in Utopia Station, Northern Territory, Australia. She was an actress and writer, known for Jedda the Uncivilized (1955), Naked Under Capricorn (1989) and Australian Biography (1992). She was married to Bill Monks. She died on January 26, 2022 in Alice Springs, Northern Territory, Australia.
Spent ten years in a Melbourne convent. In 1966, she became a liaison officer with the Victorian Government Department for Aboriginal Affairs. From 1977, worked as an activist on behalf of her people in the Northern Territory.
