The first Alien movie secretly included an LGBTQ+ character which was something that very few films were doing when it was released in the 70s. Ridley Scott’s Alien is a revolutionary film that redefined not just the horror genre but also contributed to the representation of Lgtbq+ characters. The inclusion of LGBTQ+ characters in movies and television has been a cause of debate in recent years. While many films and shows have made strides towards representation and inclusion, it’s still rare to find well-rounded and authentic LGBTQ+ characters in science fiction. I'm on God's path.
Det. Robbie Green (Jonathan Lapaglia) drinks vodka out of a shampoo container. He's got a drinking problem. His old friend and colleague, Jason (Luke Hemsworth), is mysteriously murdered in his car with the only clue being reams of digital footage on a Sd card. The footage was made by a runaway, Rachel (Hanna Mangan Lawrence), who is tracking down her sister's killer with the aid of internet pal, Aj (Alex Williams). As Green and Det. Jane Lambert (Viva Bianca)--clichéd backstory alert--follows the clues in parallel to this footage, things show themselves to be more obvious than they at first appear. Australian mystery, The Reckoning (2014), is a lot like a decently cast BBC series except without the character quirks to justify more than one episode. So, Like Thorne (2010), then.

Written By: Nick Millard
Starring: Priscilla Alden (Ethel) Jane Lambert (Mrs. Janowski “Grandmother” ), Lisa Farros (Rosalie), Michael Flood (John), George ‘Buck’ Flower (Detective), Cliff McDonald (Dr. Gerard), Charles Egan (Drunk Man).
For a movie with such a silly plot, I am surprised at how much I enjoyed this low budget flick! Also known as “Crazy Fat Ethel”, this Criminally Insane certainly will not appeal to some but will for those who enjoy a fairly well made low budget horror film. Nick Millard’s movies tend to be sleazy low budget movies with a pornographic twist that attracts a small cult following. Among other films are “.357 Magnum” and “Satan’s Black Wedding”. “Criminally Insane” was released by big box budget label World Video Pictures and subsequently received a double feature DVD release several years ago.
