The stars and creatives of Outlander got candid about Season 7 with TV Insider on the red carpet for the show’s premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival on Friday, June 9. Caitriona Balfe, Sam Heughan, and the rest of the gang are sharing what they’re most excited for fans to see onscreen this season when the show returns to Starz, and the answers may surprise you. As viewers will recall, Claire (Balfe) and Jamie (Heughan) ended Season 6 on quite a cliffhanger as she remained imprisoned for the alleged murder of Malva Christie (Jessica Reynolds). Meanwhile, Jamie was rescued by his nephew Young Ian (John Bell), as Richard Brown (Chris Larkin) planned to have him shipped off to Scotland and away from Claire. Only the show’s upcoming premiere will reveal what’s to come, but Balfe’s excitement for the season stems from the relationships Claire is having with other men.

The opening title sequence for Outlander Season 7 will be sung by Sinéad O’Connor, following a tradition each season of adapting the show’s theme song by drawing inspiration from upcoming storylines and locations. Season 7 is set to premiere this summer.
“We are honored to have Sinead O’Connor performing ‘The Skye Boat Song.’ Her rendition is, for me, a reminder of all that’s beautiful about Outlander. She is talented beyond measure. Hers is a voice of the ages — one which pierces heart and soul — and embodies the spirit of the show,” says Matthew B. Roberts, showrunner and executive producer of Outlander.
Outlander‘s seventh season will pick up after the events of the Season 6 finale, which saw Claire (Caitriona Balfe) arrested by Richard Brown (Chris Larkin) for the murder of Malva Christie (Jessica Reynolds) and for being a witch.

The Orville: New Horizons Season 3 Episode 7
Creator and showrunner Seth MacFarlane is seizing every opportunity with the third season of The Orville. This Hulu streaming renaissance has already proved itself to be the show’s most mature, poignant, and character-driven season to date.
One needs to look no further than the title of this episode to see one of its central messages. “From Unknown Graves” is a line from “The Witnesses,” a poem written in the 19th century by Henry Wadworth Longfellow which outlines the crimes committed in America against slaves.
The central story (as there are many threads within this episode) opens on a gray-alien suburban street. There are two children who are excited when they spot their father’s car pulling into the driveway, asking if he finally brought some coveted gift home to them. The father pushes a...

Spoiler Alert: Do not read until you have watched “Outlander” Season 6, Episode 8 titled “I Am Not Alone.”
Despite a tightly packed sixth season comprised of just eight episodes, Starz’s “Outlander” did not disappoint with its dramatic finale episode “I Am Not Alone.”
At the start of the finale, Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) — a couple who can never catch a break — barricade themselves inside their home while facing off against Richard Brown (Chris Larkin) and his militia. Brown has come to fetch Claire to make her stand trial for the murder of Malva Christie, a “trial” both Claire and Jamie know will not end well if Brown and his mob get their hands on her. As bullets rip against the walls of the Big House at Fraser’s Ridge, the two have a heartfelt discussion as to whether this could truly be the end of their story.

The Christies are already stirring up drama on Fraser’s Ridge and we’re only one episode into Outlander‘s long-awaited sixth season. The Starz hit introduced Jamie’s (Sam Heughan) former fellow Ardsmuir prisoner and apparent longtime adversary Tom Christie (Mark Lewis Jones) as the man traveled with his son Allan (Alexander Vlahos), daughter Malva (Jessica Reynolds), and their fisherfolk to the North Carolina region to settle down. Although welcoming, Jamie and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) are apprehensive of the staunch Protestant’s potential impact on their community. Their fears are especially apparent when Allan is caught having stolen a powder horn from Richard Brown’s (Chris Larkin) men, a family that Jamie and Claire would preferably have nothing to do with. (Credit: Starz) In order to try and set boundaries, Jamie addresses Tom towards the end of the Season 6 premiere, noting that his word is law on the Ridge.

Nearly two years have passed since the fifth season of Outlander wrapped, ending on an incredibly solemn and foreboding note. Outlander fans – the wait is almost over… A bevy of Heughan’s Heughligans and the many other excited and eager fans gathered last week for the Outlander Season 6 Premiere at London’s Royal Festival Hall. Attending were Sam Heughan, Richard Rankin, Sophie Skelton, Caitlin O’Ryan, Jessica Reynolds, Alex Vlahos, Joanne Thomson, Alistair Findlay, Paul Gorman, Mark Lewis Jones, Cesar Domboy, Lauren Lyle, Chris Larkin, Sarah Collier, Hugh Ross and Andrew Gower.
The sixth season of “Outlander” sees a continuation of Claire and Jamie’s fight to protect those they love, as they navigate the trials and tribulations of life in colonial America. Establishing a home in the New World is by no means an easy task, particularly in the wild backcountry of North Carolina – and perhaps most significantly – during a period of dramatic political upheaval.
On the red carpet the cast discussed the long wait for Season 6, with #DroughtLander coming up more than once.

[Editor’s Note: The following review contains spoilers for the Season 5 finale of “Outlander,” titled “Never My Love.”]
The fifth season of “Outlander” has been full of big moments, from the death of Murtagh (Duncan Lacroix) and Roger (Richard Rankin) being hanged, to Bree (Sophie Skelton) getting justice and Jamie (Sam Heughan) facing death from infection. On the season finale, it was Claire (Caitriona Balfe) whose life was in danger, as the story picked up on her kidnapping from last week and doled out some of the most brutal scenes in the series’ history. And once again that meant turning to rape.
“Outlander” has never shied away from using sexual assault to either advance plot or characters, as it faces the challenge of staying true to the source material while delivering an 18th-century drama to a modern audience. In that vein, Claire’s gang rape, led by Lionel Brown (Ned Dennehy) was inevitable as a big moment of her journey in the books,...

Spoiler Alert: Do not read if you have not yet watched the fourth episode of Season 5 of “Outlander,” entitled “The Company We Keep.”
After the horror show at the Beardsleys’ cabin in last week’s “Outlander” episode, Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie (Sam Heughan) found themselves heading out to rejoin the militia with an infant in tow. They caught up with Roger (Richard Rankin), Fergus (Cesar Domboy) and the rest of the men in Brownsville where all hell had broken loose.
It all started because one of Jamie’s men, Isaiah Morton (Jon Tarcy), had an affair with Alicia Brown (Anna Burnett), the daughter of Lionel Brown (Ned Dennehy) and niece of Richard Brown (Chris Larkin), the men for whom Brownsville is named. Her father disapproved not only because Alicia and Isaiah weren’t married, but also because he lost out on the dowry her betrothed had promised the family.

All characters are very different; there are no two people on a show that standout in the same way. The 100 has gotten lucky in the way that all of their characters manage to imprint themselves in the fans hearts.
The only issue? There are too many engaging characters and too much intense plot, which can sometimes result in a lack of screen time for some.
This doesn't have to be alarming, but when you have a show like The 100 where even the smallest character intrigues the viewers that are watching it can end up feeling like there is someone missing.
It really isn't a bad thing, far from it when you consider that more screen time is wanted for all these characters because they have already managed to capture the attention of the fans.
And yet with The 100 Season 5 airing now, there have been some absences that have been felt way too hard.

Oh s--t. Remember last week on The 100, when Clarke (Eliza Taylor) made that list of the 100 people who most deserved to be saved, if the repaired drop ship was their only option? We knew from the moment we saw her writing it that that list would eventually end up in the wrong hands, and that's exactly what happens in this exclusive clip from tonight's episode, when Jasper (Devon Bostick) and Monty (Chris Larkin) happen upon it. Monty at first defends Clarke, since he's been in on the decisions that led her to make the list, but he was clearly expecting to see his name among the hundred. Unfortunately, he doesn't, but Clarke's name is certainly on there. ...

It was yet another powerfully dark hour, with high drama, tension and suspense. The action was fast, furious and fun on Black Sails Season 4 Episode 3 with tons of these surprising, “Oh Snap!” moments:
Flint and company knifing Redcoats just when it looked like Silver was cornered; Rogers (with help) out-dueling Blackbeard; Rackham raising the white flag; Billy Bones saving Flint and Silver when all appeared lost; and finally, Israel Hand whacking Berringer.
But the biggest lesson, if you watch Black Sails online or on TV?
Don’t write checks with your mouth that your ass can’t cash.
Bet on Gov. Goodes Rogers learning that one soon. As in, probably-next-episode soon. Oh yeah, Rogers puffed his chest to Capt. Berringer, about how back in the day as a privateer, he killed 73 Spanish sailors and let one live to tell about it, after they killed his brother with a cheap shot in battle.

One of the most exciting newcomers to appear on Starz series Black Sails is Chris Larkin, a British veteran of stage and screen who is bonafide thespian royalty — the son of Dame Maggie Smith and Sir Robert Stephens. He also happens to be lead actor Toby Stephens’ older brother. Larkin may be related to Stephens by blood, but in Season 4 of Starz’ swashbuckling ripped-from-the-history-books drama, he is squarely at odds with Stephens’ rogue yet erudite and educated pirate leader Captain Flint. Larkin portrays Captain Berringer, Woodes Rogers’ Royal Navy right hand who doesn’t take any nonsense from pirates and...read more...

The CW announced its mid-season schedule today, including the premiere of new dramas "The 100" and "Star-Crossed" and a move for "The Tomorrow People" to Mondays.
The new series have a sci-fi tinge, but "The 100" especially, with its post-apocalyptic setting and the presence of Henry Ian Cusick (“Lost,” “Scandal”), has our attention. And while "Star-Crossed" definitely seems to appeal to the more romantic types among us, it has a lot of familiar faces and could be worth watching for one or two episodes at least.
For more info visit "The 100" and "Star-Crossed" on Cwtv.com, and follow "The 100" (@cwthe100) and "Star-Crossed" (@CWStarCrossed) on Twitter.
From the Press Release:
In February, the futuristic story of an alien/human romance begins with the premiere of "Star-crossed" on Monday, February 17 (8:00-9:00pm Et). Then, In March, the human race returns to planet Earth in the post-apocalyptic adventure drama,...

We love The CW here at SciFi Mafia. Other than Syfy, Chiller, and Fear, who have a directed advantage, The CW shows far more of Our Kind of Shows than any other network. Currently on the roster they have Supernatural, Arrow, The Tomorrow People, Beauty and the Beast, and Nikita, which is sadly currently in its final, excellent, season.
Happily they’re replacing that with not one but two more of Our Kind of Shows – and with luck, Flash will also be on its way to us, though that wouldn’t be until fall. Today they’ve announced premiere dates for the two new shows, and a schedule shift for two current shows:

The CW is holding both "Star-Crossed" and "The 100" in reserve for mid-season duty, but during the recent TV Upfronts they released a few photos from each show's pilot, and we have a look at them all right here.
Both series have a sci-fi tinge, but "The 100" especially, with its post-apocalyptic setting and the presence of Henry Ian Cusick (“Lost,” “Scandal”), has our attention for sure. And while "Star-Crossed" definitely seems to appeal to the more romantic types among us, it has a lot of familiar faces and could be worth watching for one or two episodes at least.
So while you're here, check out the photos below (top row from "The 100" and bottom from "Star-Crossed"). For more info visit "The 100" and "Star-Crossed" on Cwtv.com, and follow "The 100" (@cwthe100) and "Star-Crossed" (@CWStarCrossed) on Twitter.
