This year’s gala commemorated the incredible impact Bcrf investigators have made on research since the organization’s founding in 1993. Bcrf has been deeply involved in every major breakthrough in breast cancer prevention, diagnosis, treatment and survivorship; since the establishment of Bcrf 25 years ago, breast cancer mortalities in the U.S. have declined by nearly 40 percent. As the top breast cancer charity in the U.S., Bcrf raises more money for metastatic research – and breast cancer research in general–than any other private funder in the world.

Is there a service out there that thrives off only 1,600 users? If there is, just know that OnLive, a game-streaming service, couldn’t be anymore envious. This god-awful statistic popped up after OnLive founder and president, Steve Perlman, stepped down. Oh, and let’s not forget that at least half of the staff was reportedly laid off and that OnLive supposedly filed for bankruptcy around the same time Perlman left. All of this hit the fan around August of last year, seemingly dooming OnLive yet the company still survives today, servers and all. Now, the current chairman of OnLive is saying this was all a misinterpretation.
OnLive’s “Augustocalypse”, if you will, is said to have been a transitional period — duh. In an interview with McV in October of last year, CEO Charles Jablonski, in addition to saying OnLive is making transitions, said “if anything, this has caused everyone to...

Flingo, a major publisher of Smart TV apps, has secured an additional $1 million for its Series A investment round led by Mark Cuban and Gary Lauder. The company had previously locked up $7 million for the round, led by August Capital, but Flingo CEO and co-founder Ashwin Navin, a co-founder of Bit Torrent, wanted more “breathing room.” He then ran into Cuban, owner of the Dallas Mavericks, chairman of HDNet and a frequent investor in technology and media companies, at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this January. “I was coming...
