Whether you’ve heard the term or not, chances are you’ve seen an exploitation film somewhere in the wild. From sharksploitation megahits like Sharknado, to culture-defining classics like ozploitation’s original Mad Max, or carsploitation’s Death Race 2000, the quality of these carefully marketed mockbusters – built entirely around audience trends with huge, eye-catchingly stupid titles – has always been up for debate. But it’s rare there’s a moral dimension too; after all, no one owns the copyright on cars or sharks or post-apocalyptic bikers. It’s a little different when the genre being exploited though, is an actual person.
Bruce Lee is arguably the most famous and accomplished martial arts performer that’s ever lived. Despite a tragically truncated filmography, cut short at just four features, by his sudden death in 1973, he had co-birthed the entire kung-fu genre, which continues to live and thrive half a century on.

A singularly wacky moment in film history is poked in “Enter the Clones of Bruce.” It surveys the years immediately following Bruce Lee’s untimely 1973 death, when the sudden international thirst for martial arts movies that he’d awoken could seemingly only be slaked by the man himself — or by a host of imitators who popped up under lookalike pseudonyms.
David Gregory’s documentary won’t convince most viewers that the resulting flood of opportunistic cheapies are worth more extensive investigation. But they’re certainly cheesy fun in excerpt, and interviews with surviving participants provide an entertaining window into an anything-goes heyday for Hong Kong cinema. Premiering in Tribeca’s midnight section, this high-kicking flashback should appeal to the same fans who previously enjoyed such prior psychotronic excavations as “Not Quite Hollywood,” “Electric Boogaloo” or this director’s own prior investigations of cult figures Al Adamson and Richard Stanley.

Welcome to this week’s review of Aew: Dynamite, which was broadcast live from the Charleston Coliseum in Charleston, West Virginia and is a “Dragon” themed show (gotta get that product placement/ad cash!) We’ve Tony Schiavone, Excalibur, Jr and Taz on commentary, so let’s get to the review!
Match #1: 2 Out Of 3 Falls Match – Bryan Danielson def. Daniel Garcia The following is courtesy of allelitewrestling.com:
Danielson and Garcia grappled on the ground until Danielson got the mount. Garcia got out but Danielson started the ground and pound. Garcia transitioned to a knee bar and both competitors began to exchange kicks. Danielson got a heel hook to counter the knee bar. Garcia backed Bryan into the corner and then slapped him. Bryan connected with an open palm strike and followed up with a suplex. Garcia used a butterfly suplex on Bryan Danielson and then applied an arm lock.

After last week’s Fight on the Farm, the Briscoes are back together and, as Papa Briscoe demanded, starting at the bottom to work their way back into title contention. The Briscoes isolated Keys early. After Keys tagged in Caballero, Caballero slammed Jay Briscoe and hit a backbreaker for a two count.

Match #1: Flamita def. Bandido The following is courtesy of rohwrestling.com:
Flamita connected on a dropkick that knocked his former MexiSquad partner out of the ring. Flamita hit a dive and then rammed Bandido into the barricade. Back inside the ring, Flamita got a near fall after a running boot to the face in the corner. Bandido hit a spinning headscissors takeover that sent Flamita out of the ring. Bandido followed with Fosbury Flop and then repeatedly slammed Flamita’s knee into the post.

Welcome to this week’s Ring Of Honor review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and Ring Of Honor is the only league as of late who is doing this right. It’s a pleasure to be here to promote episode 501 of Roh TV. Let’s see how it turns out.
Match #1: Eli Isom vs. Dak Draper (Time Limit Draw) The following is courtesy of rohwrestling.com
Two rising stars who appear destined to be wearing championship gold in the future will square off in a one-on-one match for the first time, but certainly not the last. Since returning to Roh last month, Isom has recorded impressive victories over Rey Horus and Lsg. In 2018, less than a year into his career, Isom scored pinfalls on former Roh World Champion Christopher Daniels and Shane Taylor. Draper, the 2019 Top Prospect Tournament winner, is 10-2 (.833) in one-on-one matches in his Roh career.

A back-and-forth battle between master technicians ended with Haskins forcing Shelley to submit to the Sharpshooter.

Johnson grabbed a chair and was about to nail Bruiser with it, but Black took the chair away from him. Bruiser shoved Johnson into Black, knocking Black out of the ring. Welcome to this edition of The Last Week In Wrestling, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and the critics hated Rey being a Palpatine. They actually thought that being a nobody was more devastating than being the descendant of the Emperor. I’d rather be Marge Debruge’s son than Adolf Hitler’s kid, if you catch my drift. That argument for Rise Of Skywalker being terrible is so stupid…there are many reasons to dislike Rise Of Skywalker, but Rey being cursed as the spawn of evil is not one of them. Did Rey even care who her parents were in The Force Awakens? I was under the impression Rey knew who here parents were and didn’t give a s— that they were poor. Any-way, I’m prattling on because wrestling often feels like this argument about Rey in Rise Of Skywalker, that being completely stupid.

Match #1: Jeff Cobb defeated Brody King
My Opinion: 3.4 out of 5 – This was a real hard-hitting match that came across like a volcano fighting Larry The Cable Guy in a demolition derby. I bet every butcher shop in the world would hire these guys if they could. Beat meat! Match #1: The Briscoes defeated The Bouncers – Ring Of Honor World Tag Team Title Match
My Opinion: 1.5 out of 5 – The Briscoes did fine here, but this just wasn’t much of a match. Going around ten minutes, this felt like a bowling ball landing on your foot and only hurting half as much as you thought it would. Welcome to this week’s Major League Wrestling review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have an odd one to get to, so let’s do so before I go cock-eyed.
Match #1: Dragon Lee defeated Rich Swann The following is courtesy of Mlw.com:
An aggressive Rich Swann took on Dragon Lee in an important middleweight bout to open the show. The two were obviously an even match in the early going. The two apparently even think alike, throwing dropkicks and then flipping to kip up at the same time. Neither man could keep the upper hand long. Lee hit an amazing reverse rana, but Swann hopped up and landed a massive spin kick Swann eventually grabbed the momentum and thought he had the match in hand. He went to the top rope for his spinning 450 he calls the Phoenix Splash. But Dragon Lee was nowhere to be found.

Welcome to this week’s Major League Wrestling review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have some excellent matches to get to, so let’s do so.
Match #1: Teddy Hart beat Gringo Loco, Kotto Brazil, El Hijo de La Park and Dezmond Xavier Fatal-Five Way Ladder Match for the Mlw Middleweight Championship The following is courtesy of mlw.com:
Hart wasn’t even booked in the match. But in true Teddy Hart fashion, he went ahead and found a way to get in the four-way ladder match. First, he attacked Dezmond Xavier before he could enter the ring. When Kotto Brazil took exception and went to attack Hart outside the ring, Brazil got the worst of the exchange and was helped to the back. Hijo de La Park, Gringo Loco and Xavier all had opportunities to grab the belt during the course of the match,...

Welcome to this week’s Major League Wrestling review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have a couple of big time luchadors fighting in the main event, so get your eatin’ britches pulled up and ready for a big ol’ ham dinner and some stuffing with a bit of sweet potato and the cranberry sauce with cheesecake for dessert… very nice.
Match #1: Teddy Hart (with Brian Pillman) defeated Jason Cade The following is courtesy of Mlw.com:
While the Hart Foundation is looking for a shot at the World Tag Team Championships, Teddy Hart has an impending match with one half of the champs, Pentagon Jr. next week in Miami. While Hart is focused on defeating Pentagon Jr. and keeping the pressure on the Lucha Bros. (Penta and brother Rey Fenix), he was faced with Jason Cade and his Bad Attitude this week on Mlw Fusion.

Chances are high that Joey Ryan and his extremely unorthodox test of strength have flooded your social media over the past week. While that was a move that deservedly received mainstream press coverage, it wasn’t the only spot worth highlighting from the previous week.
A table war has been heating up between The Wyatt Family and a trio of Ecw originals in WWE. In Ring of Honor, Dalton Castle has been his usual creative self by putting more reversals on a piledriver than previously thought possible. In Mexico’s Cmll, Kamaitachi and Dragon Lee competed in a can’t miss matchup that was chock full of moments that were can’t miss.
Joey Ryan and his domestic object will get their moment in the spotlight, but so will the rest of the insane spots alongside it.

When it comes to making features like this one, i love the idea of coming up with my own personal “100 Great Kung Fu Movies” of all time. It is tough choosing just 100 because you know there are many more great Kung Fu movies that are not on the list.
I have decided that to make the list, a movie must have a few hand to hand moments during fight scenes in the movies chosen. If for example its mainly sword play with one fight scene hand to hand it won’t make the list. Its old school “style” Kung Fu movies, not modern day settings.
I understand everyone will have their own personal favorites and some may not agree with my list and that’s fine because it’s nice to have different opinions on this genre which keeps it fresh and alive when having good debates.
Anyway, thank you...

Many films tried to capitalise on the popularity of the late, great Bruce Lee. Here are our ten favourites...
1973 was the year that kung fu broke in America. The release of the popular Five Fingers Of Death (aka King Boxer) in March set the fuse and when Enter The Dragon (the first Hong Kong martial arts film co-produced by a major Us studio) followed in August, it exploded.
Although Bruce Lee was billed as a co-star in Enter The Dragon alongside John Saxon because casting an Asian actor in the lead role of an American film was unheard of at the time (and would remain so until 1982 when Sho Kosugi topped the bill for Revenge Of The Ninja), it was Bruce who captured the public's imagination. His amazing look and style, his astonishing talent for acting, writing and directing, and his unparalleled martial arts ability made him an icon for...

What we lack more and more these days are epic fight scenes in the final part of kung Fu/Martial Art movies. We have seen less and less one on one fight scenes in the final battle over the past 15-20 years, which is a shame but we have seen recently a few flicks bringing that winning formula back.
I want to name a few of my favorite end fight scenes and please feel free to comment below, your favorite fight scenes and maybe they will be added to the future features.
1.Flash Point (2007)

Stars: RZA, Lucy Liu, Dave Bautista, Russell Crowe, Rick Yune, Jamie Chung, Cung Le | Written and Directed by RZA
Presented by Quentin Tarantino and produced in collaboration with filmmaker Eli Roth, The Man With the Iron Fists is the big-screen directorial debut of Wu-Tang Clan member and huge kung-fu movie fan RZA, and is a throwback to the types of wildly over the top kung-fu films that flooded flea-pit cinemas and video store shelves in the late 70s and early 80s; and tells the epic story of warriors, assassins and a lone outsider hero in 19th-century China who must unite to destroy the clan traitor who would destroy them all.
Since his arrival in China’s Jungle Village, the town’s blacksmith (RZA) has been forced by radical tribal factions to create elaborate tools of destruction. When the clans’ brewing war boils over, the stranger channels an ancient energy to...

It's time for more various oddball trailers from the far reaches of cinema obscurity. So, without any further ado, let's check out some "coming attractions"!
Dr. Alien (1989):
Ah, Empire Pictures. What's not to love about the infamous production company that gave us such 80's cult favorites as Ghoulies, Trancers, Re-Animator, TerrorVision and Psychos in Love? Well, here's one from Empire that I bet you probably missed; Dr. Alien. This goofy sci-fi teen comedy stars Billy Jacoby (Just One of the Guys, Parker Lewis Can't Lose) as Wesley, a nerdy student who becomes a sexual dynamo after being injected with a serum by his new smokin' hot teacher, Ms. Xenobia played by Judy Landers (Stewardess School, Armed and Dangerous), who just happens to be an alien. Sound ridiculous enough for ya yet? This nugget of pure late-80's video fun was directed by David DeCoteau, who got his start directing...
