“America’s Got Talent” continued its 18th season on August 1 with an eighth episode of auditions. Among the acts that performed for judges Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum and Sofia Vergara this week were a basketball dunking dog, a singing devil, an animated pet rock band, a separate human rock band and a naked circus act. “America’s Got Talent” continued season 18 on August 1 with a two-hour showcase of acts in “Auditions 8.” There are no changes to judges’ dais this summer with executive producer Simon Cowell and long-time judge Howie Mandel taking their place on the ends of the table. Heidi Klum returns as well, as does Sofia Vergara who took a break when “All-Stars” aired earlier this year. Hosting duties are entrusted to the lively Terry Crews once again.
In the audition phase of “AGT,” an act needs at least three of the four judges to give them a “yes” vote to advance to the next round. If two or more judges buzz the act, they are immediately eliminated. Each judge and Crews has one chance to hit the “golden buzzer” and send an act straight through to the live performances.

A very big part of the San Diego Comic-Con is obviously the enormous amount of cosplay that goes on over the course of four days. It's impossible to walk anywhere near the convention center without seeing one of your favorite character brought to life by some dedicated fan.
MTV came to you live all weekend from San Diego, and when we weren't interviewing the biggest stars, we were out on the floor capturing all of the cosplaying goodness that Comic-Con had to offer.

The Office is getting outsourced. Get Social, a new web series from Singapore, lifts the dry sensibility and buttoned-down setting from the popular workplace comedy and transplants them to a Singaporean startup specializing in new media marketing. Get Social stars George Young as Leonard Lee, the David Brent/Michael Scott figure at Rofl, a social media marketing company. Like his British and American counterparts, Leonard is crass, rude, self-absorbed, and completely ignorant when it comes to running a business. Still, he is the boss, and his two co-workers must put up with his vain behavior. The series is split into 20 five minute installments, which can be accessed through the Singapore-based xinmsn MSN platform. What makes Get Social more than just an Office clone is its smartly constructed 21st century setting. The main company in the series is an apt parody of the thousands of startups that exploit buzzwords like "viral...
