Unrivalled in its ability to showcase the worst of people, Channel 4's Come Dine With Me sucks viewers into an ineludible abyss...
Dinner parties are rubbish, they're just dinner with added pressure. Why add pressure to dinner? It’s probably the best meal of the day. Come Dine With Me dinner parties on the other hand, are amazing. Intrigue! Underhand tactics! People riffling through strangers’ bedroom drawers! They've got it all.
For those who don’t know, Channel 4's Come Dine With Me entails people from the same area each putting on a dinner party on consecutive nights in the hope of winning £1000. They all score each other out of ten and with any luck, someone kicks off.
There is something wonderful about watching a group of people who have been thrust together in such an unusual situation – who will make the most disastrous dish?...

I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! is facing a serious headache as Australian border agents have decided to strike - just as the celebrities are supposed to start landing Down Under.
Australian Border Force employees have voted to strike in a dispute over pay and will walk out of all international airports in the country for 24 hours on November 9.
Awkwardly, that's pretty much the exact time that stars will be landing in Australia head of I'm a Celebrity's big launch on November 15.
And given that the strike is expected to cause huge disruption and leave passengers stranded, it's probably not particularly good news for producers.
It's also going to make it even harder than normal for runners to shield the celebs from the paparazzi - and from each other.
Stephanie Davis, Brian Friedman, Speidi, Josh Cuthbert, Spencer Matthews, the Cheeky Girls and Rustie Lee are just some...

It feels like only yesterday that Gemma Collins was crying mascara stained tears while complaining of contracting malaria - but this year's I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here is now just a mere month away.
Last year's series saw Carl Fogarty crowned King of the Jungle. But which stars will be enduring the Australian kangaroo anus-eating adventures on the ITV show this year? Here's the rumoured line-up so far:
Stephanie Davis
Who? Former Hollyoaks actress who was recently axed due to being "unfit to work because of alcohol consumption".
The rumour: The 22-year-old is reportedly "hot property" as a number of reality shows try to sign her up, according to The Mirror's unnamed insider. The star - who played Sinead O'Conner for five years in the Channel 4 soap - is no stranger to TV competitions, previously taking part in Over the Rainbow - a BBC One talent...

Rustie Lee has reportedly signed up for 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!' and is going to bring her ''larger than life'' personality to the jungle. The Jamaican-born celebrity chef - who rose to fame as a cook on breakfast show 'TV-am' in the 80s - declined an offer to go in the jungle last year citing medical reasons, but is now ready to test herself and has agreed to travel Down Under to face the Bushtucker Trials for the new series. Bosses hope as well her famous laugh Rustie will stir things up with her political views...

Across the land, minor celebrities are downing vitamin pills and drinking lots of milk. With shards of famous bones scattered across the Alps after the carnage of The Jump, Gemma Collins's bruised breasts implanted in our memory forever after Splash!, and Davina gingerly putting herself back together after her heroic trek for Sport Relief, everyone needs to make sure they're in tip-top condition before their agents call nervously about the next celebrity reality show.
But with these shows getting more and more dangerous - we're talking broken bones now - what on Earth will Sinitta and Mark Wright be putting themselves through next? Digital Spy has looked into its crystal ball to find out...

Benidorm will return for a sixth series in the New Year on ITV and a new family will be joining the series regulars.
Perry Benson, Hannah Waddingham, Bel Powley and Danny Walters will play the Dykes, a new family who arrive at the Solana resort.
The Dykes are from Watford and Clive (Benson) is firmly under the thumb of no nonsense wife Tonya (Waddingham). The two kids are "young, single and looking for fun".
The four newcomers join returning cast regulars Steve Pemberton, Siobhan Finneran, Sheila Reid, Oliver Stokes, Sherrie Hewson, Kenny Ireland, Tim Healey and Jake Canuso. Meanwhile, Nicholas Burns will return as Martin Weedon for the first time since series three.
This year's guest cameos will include the return of Matthew Kelly as Cyril Babcock, former Coronation Street actor Ken Morley as the head of a local hairdressing mafia and Philip Olivier as a "sexy new barman".

Where has The Governor been so far in The Walking Dead's fourth season? The show's producers tell all...
Hearing a showrunner's public declaration that he's "sick of" your character would put the willies up most actors, prompting a few frantic calls to the agent. "Hi, it's David here, tell Strictly to bump Rustie Lee; I'll do it".
Not David Morrissey though, whose role as The Governor in The Walking Dead is far from over. Scott Gimple may be sick of him, but that doesn't mean he's out of favour with the show's executive producers, "It's not that we don't like that character; it's just that we needed to give that character a break" says Robert Kirkman. "Going right back into that would seem like more retread of season three, and that's the thing we don't want to do."
Responding to concern that season...

Fancy watching some poor punter getting a back, sack and crack from Rustie Lee? Want a waxing from Helen Flanagan? Is Arg from Towie delivering pedicures what you've been waiting for all these years? Well, wait no more people. Celebrity Super Spa has arrived.
I've already had the joy of watching episode one of Super Spa. I've seen the awkward and cringeworthy hosts. I've seen Helen Flanagan prancing around without any trousers on. I've seen Rustie Lee cackling. 867 times.
And I'll probably watch it all over again tonight (September 13) when it airs on Channel 5. Firstly, because I'm a glutton for terrible television. Secondly, because I'm fairly convinced it may be the most desperate celebrity reality show ever concieved. Even by Channel 5's late night standards, this is awful. It makes The Bachelor look like The Sopranos.
So where does the show fit in the history of degrading and embarrassing celebrity reality shows?...

Helen Flanagan ended up breaking down crying during the filming for new Channel 5 reality show Celebrity Super Spa.
Flanagan, who found fame on Coronation Street, ends up in floods of tears after a bust-up with rival contestants John Burton-Race, Rustie Lee and Yvette Fielding.
> Digital Spy gets the Helen Flanagan treatment at Celebrity Super Spa
The former soap star's timekeeping annoys the other celebrities and when they confront her about her behaviour, Flanagan accuses the celebs of ganging up on her and ends up storming out of the room crying.
Flanagan also riles the spa's staff by sporting high-heel shoes, which reveal her toes, and she is also sent back to the dressing rooms when she turns up on set without any trousers on, using only her shirt to cover her modesty.
Towie star James 'Arg' Argent and actor Jody Latham are the other celebrities taking part in the series,...

The abysmal Britflick was one of the mysteries of the modern age. But the whole business may have been a clever wheeze
Is there a more perfect vignette in the recent career of our rapidly oxidising prime minister than his standing next to Aung San Suu Kyi but being quizzed about Gary Barlow? Over the years, many of us will have beheld certain politicians and wondered: "Do they have any idea what plonkers they are?" One hopes the knowledge eats at them in the silent watches of the night, but the suspicion is that everything from ministerial cars to American bilaterals fools them, and they never really put themselves into perspective.
Occasionally, though, the gods of staging chuck us a bone. And the experience of standing beside the Burmese pro-democracy paragon while reporters asked about his mate from Take That must have brought home to David Cameron his essential smallness.

When people think of celebrity chefs, they usually think of sweary Gordon, grumpy Marco or whinging Jamie and his bloomin' Turkey Twizzlers. Here at Digital Spy, we prefer to celebrate true characters from the kitchen such as Oriental cookery queen Nancy Lam! From the same school of TV chef entertainment as fellow Digital Spy Icon Rustie Lee, she puts the importance of working with a smile above how fine her onions are chopped. Lam has made forays outside the kitchen, such as an unfortunate slot on (more)...

Before the days of Gordon, Nigella and Jamie, celebrity chefs used to have larger than life personalities and cookery skills were secondary to a good sense of humour. TV-am legend Rustie Lee could rustle up a mighty fine feast in the kitchen, but it was her infectious cackle and rapport with celebrity guests such as Les Dawson, Kenneth Williams and Cheryl Baker that endeared her to the nation. Lee was one of the few reliably entertaining fixtures that worked on the ITV breakfast show until its demise in 1992. Aside from her cookery, Lee earned plenty of work in the '80s on light entertainment staples such as Game For A Laugh and Blankety (more)...
