Marriages end. Affairs begin. Sometimes there’s some overlap — and sometimes, if you’re famous, paparazzi are there to capture the entire mess.
Or, they were. Today it often feels like celebrity-stalking photographers lack the power they once held over their prey. A-listers now go to greater lengths to protect their privacy, tabloids have less cultural influence thanks to social media, and we’ve all had to reckon with the pain that that sort of media coverage inflicted on stars over the years, like Britney Spears.
Yet a blossoming scandal...

Carlos Santana, the Grammy-winning 74-year-old founder of the group Santana, collapsed on stage during a concert in Michigan on Tuesday night. He was taken from the Pine Knob Music Theatre, an outdoor shed 40 miles outside of Detroit, to a nearby hospital in Clarkston. His manager released a statement saying that he is staying at the facility “for observation and is doing well.”
Santana’s Wednesday gig at Star Lake in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania has been postponed.
Images and video of Ems workers rushing the scene made their way to social media late Tuesday. After a few moments of confusion, the iconic guitarist was carried away but shielded by a curtain. He later waved to fans, who cheered the musician.

Ayesha Curry isn’t too upset that Donald Trump has disinvited the Golden State Warriors to the White House over comments made by her husband Stephen Curry.
The 28-year-old chef and cookbook author responded to the president with an eyeroll emoji on Twitter after he tweeted Saturday morning that Stephen and the 2017 NBA finals champs are not welcome for a visit.
“Donate to earthquake relief here,” Ayesha wrote, focusing her priorities instead on raising money for Unicef in response to the 7.1 magnitude earthquake that ripped through Mexico City earlier this week and the 6.1 magnitude earthquake that hit southern Mexico Saturday.

Leave it to Dave Chappelle and John Oliver to get the Twittersphere talking.
Chappelle, 44, inadvertently sparked the trending topic at Sunday’s Emmy Awards when he gave a shout out to Washington, D.C., public schools during an unrehearsed bit alongside Melissa McCarthy.
“I am truly amazed how many black people are here. I counted 11 on the monitor. I should also tell you that I skipped rehearsal,” Chappelle said.
“Shout out to D.C. public schools. Here we go,” he said before going back to reading the monitor.

Though much of the attention was focused on basketball, all eyes were on Rihanna.
Bad Gal RiRi made quite the entrance at Oracle Arena in Oakland, California on Thursday, where the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers went head-to-head in Game 1 of the NBA Finals.
In the first quarter, the songstress, 29, caught the eye of Espn/ABC commentator Jeff Van Gundy, who couldn’t contain his excitement: “I don’t about this, but Rihanna just walked in front of me. Are you kidding me?” he said.
"Rihanna just walked in front of me." Jeff Van Gundy, the realest, out here willing to risk it all.

The controversial Pepsi ad starring Kendall Jenner may have been short-lived, but unfortunately for those involved its legacy will be immortalized on the internet forever.
The spot—which depicted the reality star easing the tension between police officers and protestors with a can of Pepsi—was widely seen as insensitive and tone deaf, prompting the company to pull the ad just one day after it was released.
Everyone from Lena Dunham to Madonna to Bernice King have since skewered the ad, and as is common in the age of social media, many others took to their keyboards to express their feelings.

Obama's on vacation with the hat backwards. He's never coming back. pic.twitter.com/RUakcwwgtT - Philip Lewis (@Phil_Lewis_) February 1, 2017 With signs of the apocalypse growing more and more convincing by the day, Barack and Michelle Obama decided to exchange their troubles for a much-needed, and well-deserved, vacation. The former president and first lady were seen taking a stroll on Necker Island, which is owned by British billionaire Richard Branson in the United States Virgin Islands, and they've never looked more relaxed. Barack ditched his suit for some board shorts, a pair of shades, flip-flops, and - the pièce de résistance - a backward baseball cap. Michelle, not to be outdone, rocked some pigtails (Omg), a fedora, and denim short-shorts. Afterward, they grabbed lunch with the Virgin Group founder and waved at onlookers. Since Barack and Michelle returned to being private citizens, they've enjoyed their time off by hitting the golf course,...

The first full day of Donald Trump‘s presidency began in protest, as hundreds of thousands of people across the globe took to the streets on Saturday to stand in solidarity with women’s rights and against the election of the 70-year-old businessman.
But before they marched, protestors made signs to help spread their message. And their sign game was strong.
Social media was flooded on Saturday with photos of these signs — some humorous, others heartbreaking in the seriousness of their reality.
Most were seen at the Women’s March on Washington, D.C. — where as many as 500,000 people are expected.
