Rachel Dratch used to be the ultimate "Oh, her!" comedian — the type of face and voice you'd always recognize, but whose name you might forget. Well, that didn't last long, because she was so memorable in tiny parts like "Southern Woman" ("Martin & Orloff") and "Female Mc" ("Winter Passing") at the outset of her career that she quickly grew into a beloved household name.
We know and love her now for her long tenure on "Saturday Night Live," where she helped create enduring characters like Debbie Downer, and in memorable roles in films like "Sisters," "Click," and "Just Go With It." Since she made her screen debut, Dratch has amassed an enormous 125 screen credits, and that's just counting individual projects, not episodes of TV, which would stretch into the multiple hundreds.
Those early years, where she was fighting for recognition with ounce inch of her comedic prowess, are well worth revisiting.

It turns out a wedding isn't actually a requirement to throw a wedding reception, as seen in The Hollywood Reporter's exclusive clip of Random Tropical Paradise.
Written and directed by Sanjeev Sirpal, the raunchy comedy stars Bryan Greenberg as a man who, upon discovering his fiancee's infidelity and canceling his wedding, opts to take his best friend (Brooks Wheelan) on the already-paid-for honeymoon — an adventure that goes awry when they cross paths with the mafia.
Spencer Grammer, Brittany Furlan, Beth Littleford, Kyle Kinane, Jessica Lowe, Ayden Mayeri, Alphonso McAuley, Caitlin McHugh and Joe Pantoliano are also featured in the film.

"We're in a Fast & Furious movie right now, nothing has to make sense." Gunpowder & Sky has debuted a trailer for a wacky comedy called Random Tropical Paradise, about two friends who end up going on a honeymoon together. The story is that, when one guy discovers his soon-to-be-wife is cheating on him, he cancels the wedding. But his friend suggests that instead of cancelling the honeymoon, they turn it into a "homie-moon" and take the trip to this random tropical paradise together and have fun while they can. As with all tropical paradise movies, this dips into the drug boss trope and there's clearly a few drug trip scenes in this. Starring Bryan Greenberg, Brooks Wheelan, Joe Pantoliano, Spencer Grammer, Brittany Furlan, Beth Littleford, Kyle Kinane, & Alphonso McAuley. This looks a bit too crazy for my tastes. Here's the official trailer (+ poster) for Sanjeev Sirpal's Random Tropical Paradise, from YouTube: For Harry Fluder,...

It's safe to say that, 17 years ago, The Daily Show was a fledgling show. "Daily satiric news anchor" was not a job. And Jon Stewart was just a stand-up comic and occasional actor, not yet the comedy nerd/political junkie's lord and savior.
Which isn't to say that Stewart and the team behind Comedy Central's late-night staple invented their own genre of topical tomfoolery. Shows like That Was the Week That Was experimented with the satirical news format as early as the Sixties. Everything from Bob & Ray to HBO's...

All of the clips from that Jan. 11, 1999 episode are still on Comedy Central's Daily Show website and have been embedded below. Taking over for Kilborn, Stewart made a few jokes about his predecessor, who had left for CBS' Late Late Show, while retaining many elements of the past iteration of the show. "Welcome to 'The Daily Show'. Craig Kilborn is on assignment in Kuala Lumpur, I'm Jon Stewart."
And so began Jon Stewart's tenure as host of what has arguably become one of the most important sources of American satire over the last decade and a half. There are many, many lines you never want to hear when someone ends a relationship — “it’s not you, it’s me” is probably in the top 3. But, as we’ve seen in the past with movies revolving around doomed relationships, they tend to make a lot of money. Variety has just reported that Vivica A. Fox, Joelle Carter, and Ross McCall have been hired to lead the indie relationship comedy, titled — well, you know — It’s Not You, It’s Me.
Screenwriter Nathan Ives is making his directorial debut, helming a comedy that tells the story of “a thirty-something commitment-phobe who breaks up with the love of his life thanks to conflicting advice from his outrageous, inner voices — and says the only thing he can think of to soften the blow: ‘It’s not you, it’s me.’” Carter (Justified) will be playing the role of the ex-girlfriend, whose...

Back in October of 2007 we put together a compendium of what we considered the greatest gay moments from The Daily Show's video archives. Everything from Jon Stewart sparring with Bill Bennett over gay marriage in 2006 all the way back to a hilarious 1999 Boy George interview by Beth Littleford.
But when it comes to Lgbt issues, Jon and his band of fake news reporters were just getting started. After all, in recent years they've had Dadt, Prop 8, Ken Reker, Nom and Maggie Gallagher and more to skewer.
Here are some of the best and most pointedly gay-supportive Daily Show moments since 2007. Did we miss something substantive? Feel free to add your favorites to the comments!

- The Scorecard Review
Cal is a steady going Dad whose life is turned upside down when his wife Emily brashly confesses that she’s had an affair and wants a divorce. Thrust into a world of new single-hood, he finds an affable and incredibly stylish womanizing friend in Jacob. Jacob helps him to reshape his persona and at the same time re-examine the steps that led him to his current state and how recapturing his manhood would inevitably get it back. Lovelorn for his wayward wife and still seemingly obsessed with fatherly landscaping duties (witness the midnight trips to his old house just to keep the grounds immaculate…hilarious), he embarks on a complete mind and body makeover that not only opens his eyes to a world he never knew, but manages to help him cope and adjust his thinking about his outlook on family and friends.

Summer movie season is upon us, and where better to talk blockbusters than at the MTV Movie Awards. Zap2it was on the red carpet asking the attendees for their must see flicks of summer.
Brad Pitt's stirring performance in "Tree of Life" has been garnering plenty of buzz around Hollywood, including with the "Teen Wolf" cast. While Rj Berger's (Paul Iacono) love life may be coming together for once, his home life is falling apart. Cue best friend Miles (Jareb Dauplaise) to provide distraction (or at least attempt to) for his distraught pal, as well as a little comedy that centers around something other than a love triangle.

Beth Littleford is coming to stir up some trouble on Desperate Housewives.
The actress, currently appear on MTV's The Hard Times of Rj Berger, will guest star on the May 8 episode of this ABC hit, portraying the head of the Parent Council at Susan's old school.
Littleford tells Entertainment Weekly she plays a super bitch and puts Susan "through the ringer," but viewers should take note of Parents' Night for a different reason. What might that be?
We can't say. It would ruin all the fun.

It's safe to say that Rick Berger (Larry Poindexter) has seen better days.
On Monday's (Apr. 25) episode of the MTV scripted comedy "The Hard Times of Rj Berger," Mr. B will start a new chapter of his currently sad and depressing life. That's until Rj (Paul Iacono) and new pal Amy (Caitlin Crosby) step in the help out.

"Rick has lost his mind completely," Poindexter tells Zap2it of his character. "He still thinks he's kind of debonaire and he's so not."

CSI: Miami (TV) is welcoming some psychic friends for a special sweeps episode. On November 7, Southland's Shawn Hatosy guest stars as a murder suspect with no recollection of how he ended up in the proximity of a dead body. To verify his story, CSI Natalia Boa Vista (Eva La Rue) goes undercover and investigates a suspicious psychic, played by Beth Littleford (The Hard Times of Rj Berger). "She's drugged him, but I don't believe the drug story," says La Rue. "So I go under cover and she drugs me."
