Andrew MacDonald: Creative Director VR
Beginning his filming career on "actual film" , Andrew had directed and shot many award winning music videos in the mid 90's. After a brief foray into commercial work Andrew decided to follow his true passion; to tell useful stories. He started working in documentary and factual entertainment in 2001. Andrew has directed over 100 hours of documentary & factual entertainment. Andrew has traveled the world and filmed in extreme environments, from the middle of the ocean on a sixty foot racing yacht, to the immediate aftermath of the Haitian earthquake. Working under such condition requires improvisation in the field to keep rolling, when you just have to get the story. Andrew is skilled at crafting stories and capturing performances to impart comprehensible and entertaining information. Andrew's series "Ed's Up" was nominated for a Gemini in 2010. Having taken Cream's VR department (founded 2015) from incubator to full VR production wing in under 2 years, Andrew currently (2018) heads up one of the busiest VR production companies in Toronto, servicing networks and brands with innovative, trailblazing 360 video, and interactive VR. Andrew has become an expert in VR production and has had his work shown (and been asked to speak) at, the Cannes Film Festival, Toronto's VRTO, and NAB in Las Vegas.
