Hugh MacLennan was born on March 20, 1907 in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, Canada. He was a writer, known for Barometer Rising, Two Solitudes (1978) and Each Man's Son (1954). He was married to Frances Waker and Dorothy Duncan. He died on November 7, 1990 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
Dr. MacLennan was awarded the C.C. (Companion of the Order of Canada)
on July 6, 1967 for his services to Canadian Literature and
Franco-English Relations.
