A24 and We’re All Going to the World’s Fair director Jane Schoenbrun have teamed up for a new horror movie called I Saw the TV Glow, which JoBlo’s own Chris Bumbray had the chance to see at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year (you can read his 5/10 review at This Link). Yesterday, A24 took to social media to unveil a poster for the film, and to promise that a trailer would be online today. True to their word, they have already dropped the trailer online, and you can check it out in the embed above! I Saw the TV Glow is scheduled to reach theatres on May 3rd.
Written and directed by Schoenbrun, I Saw the TV Glow tells the story of two teenage outcasts who bond over their shared love of a scary television show. However, the boundary between TV and reality begins to blur after it is mysteriously canceled.

Fresh off the haunting and singularly creepy indie We’re All Going to the World’s Fair, Jane Schoenbrun is back with A24‘s I Saw the TV Glow, releasing only in theaters May 3.
Headed to the SXSW Film Festival next month, I Saw the TV Glow first earned rave reviews out of Sundance, and several of them are featured in the film’s must-see official trailer.
In a world where too many people seem to be following trends and doing what everyone else is doing, Jane Schoenbrun is undoubtedly a true original. That was clear from We’re All Going to the World’s Fair. And it’s crystal clear watching the trailer for I Saw the TV Glow.
Watch the eerily seductive trailer for I Saw the TV Glow down below, which hails A24’s latest as “a one-of-a-kind masterpiece” and “one of the most original films of this decade.”

Real Estate have announced their upcoming album, Daniel, set for release on February 23rd, 2024 via Domino Recording Co. As a preview, the New Jersey outfit has shared their first single from the album, “Water Underground,” and announced a 2024 North American tour.
Daniel marks Real Estate’s first full-length album since their 2020 release, The Main Thing, and is their sixth studio LP. Recorded with Grammy-winning producer Daniel Tashian, Daniel aims to “connect the uninhibited wonder of Real Estate’s earliest work with the earned perspective of adulthood.” The band reunited in Nashville for the album, sharing a rental space after being separated from each other for the past few years.
As for “Water Underground,” Martin Courtney of Real Estate said that the single is a song about writing songs. “I think ‘Water Underground’ is like the unconscious, the mysterious part of your brain where creativity comes from,” he said in a press release.

When we reported that Jane Schoenbrun had begun production on her sophomore feature, we had no clue what kind of a zesty cast would be in store — in a nutshell, we’ve got a youthful mixture of musicians and young thesps in a sophomore film that will be a centrepiece among the A24 items to be launched next year. A24 and Fruit Tree Productions have added several new cast members for the upcoming thriller with the intriguing title of "I Saw the TV Glow." This project comes to us from writer and producer Jane Schoenbrun. If "Poltergeist" and "The Ring" made you fear your television and VHS player, you're going to find the synopsis intriguing. That goes double if you love horror television.
The cast isn't just populated with actors, but a bunch of musicians as well, including Fred Durst, indie artist Lindsey Jordan from Snail Mail, the band King Woman, and more.
If Fruit Tree Productions sounds familiar, it's the banner started by Academy Award-winner Emma Stone and Emmy-nominated writer-director Dave McCary in 2020.
The film has wrapped production already, though there has been no release date announcement yet. We'll keep you updated as that information becomes available.

"A monthly offering of adventure and fun," The Adventures of Pete & Pete returns (smartly!) as a free podcast. Big Pete (Michael Maronna) and Little Pete (Danny Tamberelli) must genuinely like each other! And that's good, because according to a press release, they "will be tasked with a series of challenges at each new destination ranging from guest bartending in Montreal to managing an ice cream truck in Brooklyn." Interesting. Each episode will also have a special guest, so stay tuned for Artie. (Fingers crossed!) Subscribe at iTunes (or from their website!)...

Nickelodeon TV series "The Adventures of Pete & Pete" ran from 1993 to 1996 and won the hearts and minds of late Gen-Xers with its charmingly surreal take on childhood and guest stars like Steve Buscemi, Iggy Pop, Chris Elliott, Janeane Garofalo, Debbie Harry, LL Cool J and Patty Hearst. Created by Will McRobb and Chris Viscardi, the show developed a considerable cult following over the years since its run ended, leading to cast and crew reunions taking place in New York and L.A. in 2011 and 2012 and once again last month as part of Sf Sketchfest in honor of the show's 20th anniversary. But is it possible that all this nostalgia comes at an unseen and dark cost? Funny or Die came up with the following spoof video featuring Michael C. Maronna (Big Pete Wrigley), Danny Tamberelli (Little Pete Wrigley), Toby Huss (Artie, the Strongest Man in the World) and Rick Gomez...

The Adventures of Pete & Pete 20th Anniversary Reunion from Michael C Maronna
There is definitely a generation of us adults who are completely bonkers over their favorite Nickelodeon shows from the early to mid-1990s -- "Hey Dude," "Salute Your Shorts," "Fifteen," "Are You Afraid of the Dark?"
Wouldn't reunions of those shows be a ton of fun? Well, Funny or Die got the band back together from the classic "Adventures of Pete & Pete" for its 20th anniversary at the Sf Sketchfest in January and above is the video of the reunion.
Nice to see titular Petes Michael C. Maronna and Danny Tamberelli on hand, plus Endless Mike Hellstrom (Rick Gomez) and Artie (Toby Huss), though we're disappointed that Ellen (Alison Fanelli) is nowhere to be seen. The video is extremely Nsfw, but it's still a lot of fun.

The cast of beloved Nickelodeon kids show, "The Adventures Of Pete & Pete," got back together for a 20th anniversaryreunion show at this year's Sf Sketchfest, much to the delight of 90s kids everywhere. But how do the former co-stars act when they're not on stage?
Funny Or Die has the answer to that question in the new sketch above, which shows Big Pete (Michael C. Maronna), Little Pete (Danny Tamberelli), Artie (Toby Huss) and "Endless" Mike Hellstrom (Rick Gomez) meeting just a few hours before their reunion show.
So what has everyone been up to these last 20 years? Well, Artie, Mike and Little Pete could probably be doing better, but Big Pete is the "V-Neck Sweater King Of America!" Not bad for a former child star.

Michelle Trachtenberg was not yet ten years old when she got her first starring role, on Nickelodeon's "The Adventures of Pete & Pete." She reminisced about the show, which ran from 1993-1996, on "Watch What Happens: Live," and how loyal its fans remain to this day.
There are apparently "Pete & Pete" reunions, but Trachtenberg gets grief on Twitter when she doesn't show up. "I’m like, ‘Dude, I wasn’t invited!’" she said.
She then shared a story of a mini-reunion she did have. "Mike Maronna, who was Big Pete, was actually a grip on a movie I did called ‘Cop Out,’ and he came into the hair and makeup trailer and he said, ‘Hello,’ and it was, like, the sweetest, loveliest reunion," she revealed.
And yet, though she probably didn't mean it, that's also a very sad reunion.
Keep up with "Watch What Happens: Live" every Sunday through Thursday at 11 p.

If you were a kid who grew up during the '90s, chances are you were probably watching either MTV or Nickelodeon to get your fix of entertainment for the day. And if you watched Nickelodeon, you were probably a fan of “The Adventures of Pete & Pete,” the oddball series featuring two brothers both named Pete and their sometimes surreal adventures growing up in the suburb of Wellsville. Created by Will McRobb and Chris Viscardi -- who were working in the promo department at the still-fledgling network -- 'Pete & Pete' had begun as a series of shorts in 1989 before becoming a regular series several years later. But this wasn’t just any kids program. Not only did it feature an 8-year-old with a tattoo of a topless mermaid named Petunia and a personal superhero wildly gesticulating in skin tight pants but featured recurring guest stars, including Steve Buscemi, Iggy Pop,...

There's a reason why a certain generation looks back on "The Adventures of Pete & Pete" with a vast fondness and nostalgia that reaches almost mythic proportions: the show was all about looking back on childhood with a vast fondness and nostalgia in mythic proportions.
