Marquard's wife was a headliner 'vaudeville' performer.
Pitched for the New York Giants (1908-1915), Brooklyn Dodgers (1915-1920), Cincinatti Reds (1921) and Boston Braves (1922-1925).
Elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame by the Committee on Baseball Veterans in 1971.
Tied with Hall of Famer Tim Keefe for the most wins in a row (19) during a a season in 1912 (as of 2002).
Made major league debut on 25 September 1908.
