this is a movie that martinez made in late 1997, still doing just european films.it is now out on dvd, and it is truly a hidden gem.it is sort of a noirish, gritty movie, set in the madrid underworld.martinez plays an ex bullfighter,fresh out of prison, forced back into a life he no longer wants.watching martinez in this role made it all the more puzzling why he doen't work anymore.he is capable of carrying a movie and seemed on the brink of being something special a few years back.i would put toreros in the same league as chambermaid on the titantic, a very good european movie that american audiences would like.
