John Mauceri was born on September 12, 1945 in New York City, New York, USA. He is an actor and writer, known for Oklahoma! (2011), Tár (2022) and Evita (1996).
Principal Conductor, Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, 1991-
He conducted the orchestra for the first complete recording of the
score for the Gershwin musical "Girl Crazy", using the original 1930
orchestrations.
Coordinated with conductor/composer Howard Shore for national
performances of his "Lord of the Rings" Symphony.
Conducts the Pittsburgh Opera Orchestra.
As of July 2006, is the seventh chancellor of the North Carolina School
of the Arts (Winston-Salem).
