Was nominated for Broadway's 1958 Tony Award for book, with
collaborator José Ferrer, of Best Musical nominee "Oh, Captain!"
He was born in Queens, New York City, and the only child of Albert and Julia Morgan.
He served in the United States Army as an infantryman during World War II where was wounded in Europe. He was reassigned to work for an Armed Forces radio network in Paris, France.
He is survived by his daughter, Joey Morgan; a daughter, Amy Jane Morgan Johnson; and son, Allen Morgan; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
