Fox Sports West reporter Dan Moriarty is apparently one of those kick-'em-while-they're-down kind of guys. Or maybe he just never watched Go On (he should have, it was funny). While catching up with Matthew Perry at an L.A. Kings hockey game, Moriarty exclaimed, "Big news today and congratulations is in order!" The big news was that Perry's NBC series Go On had been canceled. Perry, being as good natured and quick on his feet as, say, Chandler Bing, responded, "Oh, thank you. You're talking about my show getting canceled? It was sort of a sad day because of the people and I'm going to miss them." He continued, with a laugh, "But,...

It has been a rough week for many in Hollywood who make their living making TV, and Matthew Perry is among them. NBC canceled his freshman sitcom, Go On, as part of a massive housecleaning effort in a bid to gain viewers. But did sports reporter Dan Moriarty know about that when he interviewed Perry at an L.A. Kings game? Hopefully not, as Moriarty brings up the delicate subject by asking, "So, big news today and congratulations is in order." "Oh, thank you," a nonplussed Perry replies. "You mean because of the show

Matthew Perry hasn't had the best post-"Friends" TV track record: "Studio 60 On The Sunset Strip," the 2007 Aaron Sorkin drama he starred in, was canceled after a season, as was Perry's 2011 comedy "Mr. Sunshine." Then last week, NBC axed his latest show "Go On" after its first season as well.
Asking an actor about his/her show being canceled -- i.e., losing his/her job -- is definitely a touchy territory, and one perhaps misinformed reporter found the most awkward way to bring up the news of "Go On's" cancellation in an interview with Perry.
While at an L.A. Kings game this weekend, Fox Sports West reporter Dan Moriarty talked to Perry, a longtime Kings fan, and asked about his loyalty to the team and "Go On." "Big news today and congratulations is in order," Moriarty said in the interview (above). A slightly shocked Perry took...

Even when distracted by the tension of playoff hockey, Matthew Perry still couldn't escape an unpleasant reminder that his NBC show, "Go On," had been canceled after just one season. In fact, he was actually congratulated for it. Fox Sports West's Dan Moriarty interviewed the actor during the second intermission of Friday's L.A. Kings game at the Staples Center, and noted "a congratulations is in order" for Perry's "big news." Also read: 'Go On' Canceled by NBC "Oh, thank you. You're talking about my show being canceled?" "Bless me father, for I will sin."
Here's a great new trailer for the Francis Ford Coppola-produced period coming of age film On The Road, which was directed by Walter Salles. I didn't really have any interest in seeing this movie until this trailer came along and showed me that it actually looks like a good film.
The movie is based on the book written by Jack Kerouac, and it has a solid cast actors that includes Garrett Hedlund (Tron Legacy), Sam Riley (13), Kristen Stewart (Twilight), Amy Adams (The Fighter), Kirsten Dunst (Spider-Man), Viggo Mortenson (Lotr) and more.
Here's the Synopsis:
After his father's death in the late 1940s, 24-year-old aspiring writer Sal Paradise meets 20-year-old ex-jailbird Dan Moriarty and his beautiful wife Marylou in New York. Dan is extremely charming and has a flexible moral code, and is as fascinated by Sal's obsession with writing as Sal is...
