It seemed inevitable that stuntmen/brothers Mark and Michael Munoz would get the boot on this week's Amazing Race, seeing as they started the leg with a three-hour-plus penalty that appeared impossible to overcome. But unlike their past few bumbling outings, Mike tells TVGuide.com they ran a "seamless" leg that nearly ensured them a final four spot. How close were they? Find out below, as well as get an explanation of their penalties and learn which Racers suffer from a "lack of personality."

Television Rating: 4.5/5.0 Chicago – For six years there has been an Emmy Award for Outstanding Reality Competition Program and for every one of those years the same show has walked home with the trophy, beating series like “Project Runway,” “Survivor,” and “American Idol”. That show is “The Amazing Race”. Based on the strength of the premiere, it seems likely the producers of this CBS mainstay should probably make room for Emmy #7.
“The Amazing Race” could be used in classrooms to dissect what separates the good reality TV from the bad. Yes, hosts are important and Phil Keoghan is one of the best. And concept is key. But a competition shows lives and dies on two things - casting and editing, both of which are incredibly strong on “The Amazing Race”.

"The Amazing Race" aims it big in their fourteenth edition that will premiere Sunday, February 15 at 8/7c on CBS. The 11 teams competing for the $1 million prize were put in the "most grueling" courses in the show's history, including surviving the freezing temperature of Siberia and jumping for the world's second tallest bungee jump.
"Heading into our 14th season, I wanted to pull out all the stops. We have extreme climates, intense roadblocks and less time in airports, which adds up to an exhausting course for the racers," said co-creator and executive producer Bertram van Munster on the press release. "Whether you're a screenwriter, a Harvard graduate, a jockey or a carpenter, this race will test your stamina, your heart and your will to win."
Those teams consisting of two each have been introduced and they include stunt men, parish father and his gay son, former NFL cheerleaders and Harvard graduates.
